Armed with a bag of apples and a jar of honey ISRAEL21c set out across Israel recently to find some of the more extreme places that people enjoy their New Year traditions.

After a summer of conflict with Gaza, and citizens running back and forth to shelters across the land, you might have expected things to be a little subdued. Far from it. New Year, new start.

Skydiving, surfing, rock-climbing, or even on a Segway, the people we filmed celebrate the Jewish New Year tradition of dipping apple into honey the way they live their lives – with passion.

It’s ISRAEL21c’s mission to show the world not just the incredible health, technology and environmental innovations coming out of this country, but also the human face of Israel, the spirit and diversity of this tiny country.
