To Make a Place for the Divine’s Space

To Make a Place for the Divine’s Space

(Reflections on the Haftorah for Vayakhel- Pikudei)

( Ezekiel 45:18-46:15)

Without place for the Divine within,

There is no space made for the Divine.

The Divine resides wherein we welcome G-d.

The external sanctuary will be built

When we give the Divine a residence within.

The paradox: G-d awaits the place to reside.

The external gates to be built, if we remove all gates,

Inside ourselves for the Divine presence,

Empty of ourselves, giving G-d the space within our place.

Sacred Space begins by giving our place

To the Supreme Being’s Omnipresent Space.

A new era will begin when we withdraw

From ourselves, our very being will then find,

That, as a drop of water in the vast ocean

Finds itself, when it has lost itself.

We too, will find ourselves

When we have lost ourselves from ourselves.
