To Shimon Peres: A Poet of the Stars

Steadfast in your faith in Israel and your love of the Jewish people, you dedicated your life to help prevail over any challenge, never losing sight of the future: a vision of wonder and gold, obscured by the blunder of fire and smoke;

High-tech you championed with vigor and fire, energetically connecting with younger admirers, believing that technology harbors the key to change the world, you nurtured the next generation to be ever-so-bold;

I will truly miss you, and so will so many, that omnipresent image of you no more here to accompany, we wake up now to a new dawn, new lines in the sand drawn;

Magical was the feeling of all who surrounded you: witnessing a wonder of the world, simultaneously ever so young/ and ever so old, Perpetuum Mobile: Lo and Behold;

Oslo was your path: of ever trying to bring walls down; hopes flying high in the sky only to be shattered and drowned, yet you – just like you – are not one to give up, what is it if not just a bump;

Naive they sometimes called you, yet passion and purity of mind became you, never letting go of us, you kept your thrust forward;

People from the Mississippi to the Nile, on social media posted your smile, so much and so many they were; as their lives you touched to the core;

End is nothing but a new beginning, but what does this mean now for you? Will you rise again to sing? Will you take again your cue?

Regal in all your manners, with royalty you roamed the globe, but simple were your endeavors, just to build and fortify your home;

Ever so thankful we are to you, Shimon, if that word even fits, as our hearts – in seeing you gone – are broken to bits;

So Rest in Peace, oh Great Man, and remember you we shall, as we still refuse to believe it is time to bid you farewell;

May Your Memory Be Forever Blessed, nothing but a new beginning, but what does this mean now for you? Will you rise again to sing? Will you take again your cue?

Regal in all your manners, with royalty you roamed the globe, but simple were your endeavors, just to build and fortify your home;

Ever so thankful we are to you, Shimon, if that word even fits, as our hearts – in seeing you gone – are broken to bits;

So Rest in Peace, oh Great Man, and remember you we shall, as we still refuse to believe it is time to bid you farewell;

May Your Memory Be Forever Blessed.
