Tractatus Dialogico Philosophico De Faceta – A Modern Humorous Dialogue
Jane: It seems that you are enjoying that chocolate cake!
John: Yes, it is actually quite delicious.
Jane: Do you know that there are tens of thousands of starving children in the world?
John: The good thing about this cake is that it does not make much of a mess, it does not crumble.
Jane: I am not only speaking of children in Africa but also Brazil and nearly all of Sudan.
John: Do you know that inside the cake is delicious white cream. Strange word: “cream.”
Jane: The truth is that in our own country there are many people who never have breakfast or dinner. This is a tremendous tragedy.
John: The cream has small pieces of white chocolate around it that give the cream a very special taste. They are called “fried sweeties.” I am not sure why they are called fried sweeties. There is nothing “fried” about them. Anyway, the cake is very tasty and that is the main thing.
Jane: I am also thinking about air pollution and water pollution. Do you know about all the slums in our own country? There are quite a number of these…
John: What I like the most is the crunchy part of the pastry at the base of the cake. Some people think it is the middle part. That is fine with me, but for me it is the bottom. Really exceptional.
Jane: And there are the frequent earthquakes and tsunamis that kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people.
John: The strange thing is that if you would have only the pastry and not the blend of ingredients such as the addition of a very thin coating of strawberry jam, the chocolate would not be irresistible. It is the strawberry coating which makes the pastry so tantalizing and tasteful. Really odd.
Jane: I am not even speaking about the fact that much of our nature gets destroyed by industry and factories. Many children have never seen a tree in blossom or a beautiful flower in a green field.
John: If you were to ask me why I am so crazy about this cake, I have only one answer. It is the combination of the chocolate with the cream and the fried sweeties covered by the strawberry jam—that is IT!
Jane: And then there is the problem that in most of our cities there are not enough playgrounds and the children have to stay inside their tiny homes and so get little fresh air.
John: You see, when you buy the cake , you have to eat it the same day. Once you start storing it in the fridge, the different tastes start blending together. As far as I am concerned, it is not worth eating it anymore.
Jane: What about the problem of the skyscrapers for which they had to destroy large forest and natural green areas? These skyscrapers create a kind of neurosis with many people.
John: When I see such a cake, I often wonder who ever thought of it. It He must have been a genius. It is miraculous, not just an ordinary cake—it is out of this world!
Jane: One of the biggest problems we encounter is that there is no true communication between people anymore. No real discussion or proper debate.
John: How did you come to that conclusion?
