Trump Earns His Peace Prize
With his destruction of the Fordow nuclear complex, President Trump has won his spurs. He now merits the Nobel Peace Prize he is said to covet.
He won’t receive it, to be sure; the rule on the Nobel Committee appears to be that only Leftists and incompetents are eligible. But in the real world, Trump is today the champion of peace.
Trump has now made clear to the whole world that he is not the Trump-Obama or Trump-Biden that he was sometimes talking of becoming in his speeches. No, tonight he is the Trump-Reagan that he had promised to be all along. The Trump who requires our enemies to appease us, not the Biden/Obama who appease Iran and Putin and Xi and any other anti-Americans they can find to appease.
He has with one fell blow set back the danger of Iranian nuclear bombs for years. That leaves us, to be sure, with the problem of cleaning Iran out of its highly enriched uranium, and with the risks of Iranian dirty bombs and terrorism; but the latter would be far less damaging. We can now threaten Iran with far worse retaliation than anything it can hit us with in this period.
The only thing more President Trump could do for peace in Iran is to topple the Islamist regime itself, so it can never retaliate again against us or anyone else. This may soon follow, if Iran does not hasten to appease him and totally surrender control over its nuclear programs and personnel.
