Trump reels

In June 2024, during the election campaign, Trump was asked on Fox News, “Would you declassify the Epstein files?” Trump responded, “Yeah, yeah, I would.”

Now Trump seems to be changing his mind. Some say because he might be implicated.

But many in MAGA (Trump’s voter base) are demanding that Trump keep his word.

What are words?

When we praise someone, we give them confidence and encouragement.

When we say “hello” to a neighbour, we spread sunshine and goodwill.

And the opposite — negative speech — can harm and destroy.

In the Passover Haggadah, it says: The wise one, what does he say?

The previous Lubavitcher Rebbe explained the Hebrew words differently: The wise one’s essence can be known, by what he says.

Our speech, what we say, says a lot about who we are.

Honouring commitments sets a strong, morally upright example. Especially when leaders do so.

It’s interesting that this fiasco with the files started to snowball on July 7, when the Department of Justice declared that there was no client list etc.

And on that same day, Netanyahu met with Trump, and (according to numerous analysts) Trump tried to pressure Bibi to make a deal in Gaza, but Bibi insisted on certain conditions, which Hamas won’t accept.

In the days that followed, Trump and his administration lashed out against Netanyahu on various issues, including regarding Israel’s bombing of Syria (which was done to protect the Druze from being massacred).

And during those same days, the pressure against Trump (for not releasing the files) intensified.

It says in the Book of Daniel (12; 10) that there will come a time when many things that were hidden will be revealed.

When we see things as they are, including within ourselves, it enables us to examine our actions and thoughts, so that we can rectify things going forward.

So that the world can become a peaceful and pleasant abode, where people are in tune with one another.

Where we become increasingly aware of what G-d wants us to do.

Which brings us closer to the wondrous time, when we see G-d Almighty keep His word, as He brings the complete Redemption with Moshiach.
