Trump wants to end the war. Who can Israel trust in now?

Trump fought with Israel against Iran. But now Trump is looking at the midterm elections, and the rising price of gas (due to the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz), and he wants to end the war quickly.

Democrats in the US, and even some Republicans, are increasingly turning against Israel. According to a poll, many Americans, especially younger people, have an unfavourable opinion of Israel.

Numerous Arab countries originally encouraged the US to fight Iran. But after they saw that the regime didn’t fall, and after Iran closed the strait and attacked their countries, they changed their minds, and they are now renewing and strengthening relations with Iran.

Countries worldwide want the strait opened. European nations which had imposed sanctions on Iran, are now saying that they will withdraw the sanctions.

Iran holds the threat of blocking the Strait of Hormuz, over everyone’s head. The world is afraid of antagonizing Iran.

Who can Israel rely on? Who can Israel trust?

Israel now seems to be quite alone, in its efforts to stop Iran and Iran’s proxies.

When we look across the whole wide world, and there seems to be no country ready to stand up against an evil regime which threatens not just Israel but also the world; when we look far and wide, and there seems to be no help in sight, we can look up.

And we can place our trust in our Father in heaven, Who has miraculously saved the Jewish nation till now.

As Prime Minister Netanyahu concluded in his speech to the nation yesterday:

אל תירא עבדי יעקב … ואל תחת ישראל

Do not fear my servant Jacob … and do not be dismayed Israel (Jeremiah 30; 10)
