Trumping
Watching Donald Trump on the hustings conjures up thoughts of what someone once said of another great showman, P.T. Barnum: "There's a sucker born every minute."
Trump's stump speeches, full of wild rhetoric, curses, threats, profanities, boasts and policies devoid of details, are of the kind that led legendary journalist H.L. Mencken to observe, “no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.”
Giving a peek at what a Trump administration would look like, he said one person he said would have a special place in his cabinet is Sarah Palin, the former half-time governor of Alaska and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate.
That NY Daily News celebrated the Palin endorsement with a from page showing the dynamic duo pointing to each other: "I'm with Stupid," said the banner, with a subhead stating: "Hate minds think alike: Palin endorses Trump" and "Bird Brains of a feather flock together."
If she's an example of who'd be in his government, who are his role models?
The GOP frontrunner has expressed admiration for Russia's Vladimir Putin ("highly respected within his own country and beyond"…" I would be willing to bet I would have a great relationship with Putin.") and North Korea's Kim Jong-un ("amazing," "incredible" use of power "This guy doesn't play games.").
