Trump’s plan

Deportation can be a crime when there are no legal grounds to deport. But if someone commits certain crimes, then deportation may be allowed.

The spirit of the law should be taken into account. So if civilians are deported in order to protect them, then the deportation can be considered beneficial.

And when civilians want to emigrate (as when hundreds of thousands fled Syria during the civil war there), then it’s something that they want to do.

Thus there can be a number of reasons and circumstances which can make Gazan emigration legal.

So Trump’s plan to give Gaza’s civilians protection and shelter in other countries, should be a no-brainer. It’s protecting lives. It’s getting civilians out of harm’s way. And it’s enabling Israel to destroy Hamas, and possibly rescue hostages.

When Hamas massacred, tortured, and kidnapped civilians on October 7, they committed crimes against humanity.

Many Palestinian civilians supported and cheered Hamas’ attack. These civilians can be considered guilty of condoning and abetting crimes against humanity.

When Israel fought Hamas in self-defense, and made tremendous efforts to avoid harming civilians (even though Hamas used civilians as human shields), then Israel abided by international law.

The contrast is striking. Hamas committed crimes against humanity. Many Gazan civilians cheered them on. Israel abides by international law. Yet the world screams at Israel.

Gazan civilians who want to emigrate should be allowed to do so.

Regarding the other civilians, there are reasons to say that it’s legal to move them to the safety of other countries.

It’s time to destroy Hamas.

And the world will thank us.
