Turning Passion Into Purpose: A Lifelong Love for Israel

The Roots of My Advocacy

I grew up with a huge love for Israel. It is a devotion deeply rooted in my family history. My grandparents were very active in the resistance during WW2, and my parents grew up with a profound love and respect for Israel that they passed on to my brother and me from the cradle.

When my father was in the army, he was sent to the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in the Middle East. We came along and had the unique experience to see the Middle East from all possible sides.

It was during these days that I fell unconditionally in love with Israel. If you lived in Syria under the dictatorship of the old Assad regime, and also lived in Israel with both Syrian and Israeli friends, it is not difficult to understand the clash of cultures. You can clearly understand that the Western and Israeli mentality is simply not compatible with the surrounding regimes.

When I returned to the Netherlands at age 13, I became a fierce advocate for the state of Israel

Balancing Life and a Dream
From age 21, I had a huge wish to contribute to Israel. I wanted to help in intelligence or other vital ways, but life took another turn. I married and had children. After years I divorced, but my love for Israel never vanished. I founded Time To Stand Up For Israel, and my dream once again became vivid.

But as a single mum of four, I had to maintain a primary job to support my family. Advocating for Israel became my secondary, voluntary 24/7 unpaid job. My wish never vanished, but the perfect opportunity never seemed to come.

An Unexpected Turning Point
Life sometimes takes an unexpected turn. I am currently on vacation in Thailand and I recently received the news that the project I was working on has been postponed.

Unfortunately, there is no budget available to continue my position, which means that by the end of August I will once again be looking for a new opportunity. Of course, I was disappointed. But instead of seeing this only as a setback, I choose to see it as a possible new beginning.

Opening a New Door
For more than 12 years I have dedicated thousands of hours to supporting Israel through my Foundation, Time To Stand Up For Israel. I have built an international network, created awareness campaigns, written hundreds of articles, organized events, promoted Israel across social media, and reached hundreds of thousands of people with positive and factual content.
Perhaps this is the exact moment to turn that passion into my full-time profession.

I am looking for opportunities to work in or for Israel. Whether through communications, public diplomacy, journalism, advocacy, event organization, tourism, content creation, fundraising, or another role where my experience can contribute, I would love to hear from you.

My professional background is in functional application management, and I am also available for roles in that field. But if I can choose exactly where to invest my time, knowledge, and energy, my heart belongs to Israel.

If you know of an opportunity, or if you would like to support the work of Time To Stand Up For Israel, please reach out. Sometimes one door closes so that another can open. I truly hope this is one of those moments.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
