Twists and Turns are Part of the Journey

Life is not easy. However, it is up to us to realize that we all have a unique journey, and we should see it from all sides. This week was all about appreciating your journey in the moment, and being grateful for your journey. Today my son had a Bar Mitzva of a friend, and since it was Shabbat, I wrote down directions on a piece of paper. It was only fifteen minutes away, but Jerusalem has many twists and turns, and I always seem to make an extra circle. We ended up walking into a park, and I saw people sitting next to the fountain and asked for directions. They pointed us to a building close by, and we had to figure our way out of this park full of trees and hills. Then we happened upon a group of men, so I knew I was near a synagogue, and then I saw one older woman. I decided to ask her if she knew of the synagogue we were going to, and she said she was going there too!

She told me she works for the OU and brings a wonderful publication the Torah Tidbits every week. I was excited to get one, it is wonderful stories and lessons about the Torah lessons of the week. She later told me her number is there if I need anything. I see the magic that happens to me. I find this magical. I had no idea where I was going, and I ran into exactly who I needed to meet to get me there, and connect with for the future.

Then more magic happened, we came exactly on time to hear the Bar Mitzvah boy read the Torah portion, he souded so musical and amazing.  I said hello to his mom, and I met her friend Ayo. The name sounded farmiliar and she was telling me it is from the Torah, and then I realized she is the Yoga teacher that I have been seeing in all of my groups. So exciting to meet her in person, she is so amazing. The connections kept happening, once I joined my family in Chabad of Rehavia, I met two other people that told me they could connect me to working with soldiers. That is my dream, and I am open to any and all suggestions.

Summer is hot, it is not a vacation for us, we are still trying to navigate all the twists and turns. Breathing, praying and knowing that God’s plan is always good and always at the right time.

On the Jewish calendar the past few weeks are culminating in the nine days. It is a total of three weeks that we remember and learn about our history and the destruction of the first and second Bais Hamikdosh. This is the Western Wall that still stands, and everyone from all over the world visits and feels the connection. There were also many other sad and horrific events that happened in Jewish history in these three weeks. While we remember, we also rejoice that these will be happy times, God Willing immediately. No more wars, peace and respect among all nations, and everyone brining happiness and holiness into this world. The final day, next Sunday is called Tisha B Av, and it is a fast day. We pray that there will be a celebration with Moshiach coming immediatly in our days!
