Yes. And now I try to stop an Israeli far-right Knesset member from coming to Australia, and they took away two of our diplomat visas to Israel.

The nerve!

Yes. And when we said that we would recognize a Palestinian state, they approved housing in an area that would split a Palestinian state.

Awful.

Yes. I just don’t know what to do. And Trump is defending Israel. What’s wrong with him?

Well, you know. Trump is Trump.

What should we do?

Well Albo, I’ve been thinking. Maybe we should do nothing.

Nothing.

Extraordinary times

European leaders came yesterday to the U.S. in order to discuss possible peace for Russia and Ukraine.

These are extraordinary times, as Trump has already brokered peace deals between numerous countries, including Pakistan and India, Thailand and Cambodia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

And Trump has accomplished much of this via U.S. economic leverage.

Meanwhile, Trump is giving tremendous support to Israel.

Everything happens by Divine providence.

As we marvel at the wondrous events happening right before our eyes, we wonder if perhaps the promise of Redemption with Moshiach might be very close.

One of the prophecies about the end of days is that “no nation will lift a sword against another nation.” (Isaiah 2; 4)

Another prophecy in that verse, is that “swords will be beaten into plowshares.”

The share of the plow is the metal part that cuts into the ground, enabling seeds to be planted.

It means that we use sharp metal to benefit the world. We cut into the earth in a peaceful benign way. We grow food, and use other facets of the world, like technology etc, to help humanity prosper. We delve into the world’s secrets and resources, as we discover earth’s fascinating treasures that can brighten our lives.

And Trump is using it, to bring peace. Trump is ‘beating’ or nullifying the use of military weapons, and instead he is weaponizing trade and the economy to save the world.

Perhaps this is a fulfillment of the above prophecy. Plowshares become the new weapon, the new tool to eliminate deadly wars, the new tool to change the world for the better.

And as leaders gather in Washington, eager to implement the new initiative to restore peace in the European continent, Trump lets the world know, clearly and unequivocally, that he supports Israel.

Extraordinary times. A time when, by Divine providence, nations are learning ways to achieve peace, and are learning that Israel, G-d’s chosen nation, needs to be respected.

The Almighty is protecting the Jewish nation.

Redemption seems very close.
