UNESCO’S Temple Revisionism

It is shocking to see representatives of nations led by Arab hatred to the virtual rewriting of the history of the most morally important religion in the Western World. It is Judaism which gave mankind its first critical noble code to human behavior, accepted universally as the Judeo-Christian ethic. It is at the core of every legal and ethical system in the Western world.

The successful use of world organizations to delegitimize Jewish rights to their holiest site is a vulgar move which once again encourages the Palestinian leaders on their new path. Their accomplishments through “lawfare” on the world stage have proven to them that they need not negotiate with Israel on any issue .   When they can win their support in political venues such as UNESCO, they are encouraged to ignore any form of compromise or attempt at a peaceful solution to the continual political impasse.  With not one move towards a true peace in the Middle East, they have their flag flying above the United Nations building as proof that their assault is gaining momentum.

More outrageous than the voting of 24 Muslim countries against Israel’s historical truth that the Temple written about in minute detail in the Torah thousands of years ago,  was and continues to be the most important site in the Jewish world, is the fact that 28 additional countries abstained from the vote.  How does one abstain from facing a fact?  How is it that the world accepts the Muslim claim that the Temple Mount is their third holiest site, but it does not accept the historically  verifiable fact that it is the first, not third, most holy site in the Jewish religion?

Temple denial is the new version of Holocaust denial.  Refute the history of the Jewish people and you challenge their right to exist. Reject their belief that their holiest site is of crucial importance, and then you move on to refute that their religion and their State has a right to exist.  The brilliance of their plan is undeniable and ignoring their steps in this direction is fool-hearty.  While we may wish that these incremental successes are unimportant, they in fact, tear away at the fabric of the truth.

The astuteness of the Arab assault on the Jewish people in the political and legal arenas, is confirmed by their success in getting substantial nations such as India and Argentina to cower to their influence. An abstention in UNESCO  was as good as a vote against the Jewish people and their nation. It resulted in  the fraudulent endorsement of the lie that Jewish history is invalid. It  supported the Arab goal to delegitimize our people, our homeland and our history. Shame on the delegates of the nation states who participated in this debacle.

For those who laugh at this atrocity and think it is a storm in a teacup, please think again.

We are living in times when the younger generations no longer know truth from fiction. They can turn on their electronic devices and read lies fed to them on every possible subject.  Candidates in electoral races rewrite their own truths, and our youths are left bereft of a haven to go to for honesty.  This lack of clarity is creating a world of cynicism and distrust.  When world leaders can be manipulated on even matters of historical fact, there is little hope that ideals will flourish in the future.

Credit is due to the UNESCO Director General Bokova for stating clearly that this vote denouncing the connection of the Jewish people with their most holy site, was unacceptable and part of an Anti-Jewish campaign. But there is no absolution for her inability to reign in the hatred and power mongering of those who made it come to fruition.  If her organization has no standards which are inviolate, its very right to exist needs reexamination.

Whilst the Jewish texts of three thousand years speak constantly of the importance of the Holy Temple and Jerusalem to the essence of our people, the Koran makes no mention of either. And still, historical truth is ignored and bastardized by UNESCO’s membership.  They should hang their heads in shame.  Instead of embarrassment , their Muslim brothers and sisters are dancing in the streets at yet another victory against the Jewish people.  The inversion of truth in the new reality of the 21^st century leaves an International moral vacuity which heralds a sad future for generations to come.
