Unite with ‘Am Yisrael  Chai’

(Written during the period of the counting of the Omer with its historical significance in the history of Israel)

As history has shown Israel, there is no greater strength than unity; and there is no greater weakness that brings danger and catastrophe than lack of unity.

Even when there is a difference of opinion or strong opposition, unity has been the saving grace of Israel, the lack thereof has been its historical downfall.

The demonstrations in Israel have been for the most part peaceful. Why not for both opposing groups to sing together when they encounter each other; Or, even for separate demonstrations also to sing “Am Yisrael Chai”!

“Am Yisrael Chai” encompasses both groups in union, even though there is a difference of opinion or opposition, but both are united in “Am Yisrael Chai”.

What a message to send to all of Israel’s generations, past, present and future, a beacon of light to ourselves and the nations of the world, as a clarion call:  a message, in a song, of diverse thinking, but a strong, united, vibrant, caring Nation with ideals, values and principles.

This is what Israel is meant to be and ever to become more and more, united as One.…
