United Nations Is Hiring In Israel: More Double-Standard and Hypocrisy
The United Nations is hiring in Israel – and their hypocrisy and double standard shines through on many counts when reviewing their job listings.
Take the job currently being shown at http://unjobs.org/vacancies/1356886992094 where the United Nations Relief & Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees in the Near East is seeking a Legal Officer to be stationed in Jerusalem. Their stated mission “is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight.”
A perusal of the UN Jobs website reveals no “legal officers” being sought in Syria – are not the “refugees” of Syria in more danger than anywhere else where tens of thousands of citizens have been killed by their own government? The Legal Officer post focuses on “providing international law input and advice to Headquarters and Fields on a wide range of issues, in particular protection issues…” Human rights violations in Syria where thousands are being slaughtered should be the priority if this organization were sane and balanced. In Jerusalem the living of standard for Arabs is better than in areas where the Palestinians have their own territories. No citizens are being killed and lynched by governmental leaders in Israel, unlike in Gaza and the Palestinian territories.
A job where Jews shouldn’t apply would be http://unjobs.org/vacancies/1354526693684 where a “Juvenile Justice Project Manager” is being sought for someone to be based in Jerusalem, travel daily to Hebron and monthly to Gaza. Would a Jew be safe if hired in this position to work in “collaboration with partner organizations”? One thinks not as Jews get killed if they dare venture into these areas – but don’t expect the United Nations to act on that.
Shameful behavior of the UN has lasted many years and undoubtedly will continue – the good people of the world should speak out. As Ze’ev Jabotinsky the Zionist visionary said: “Silence is Despicable.”
