US Muslims Turn Further Against Same-Sex Marriage
Note to LGBTQ+ activist groups: What you’re doing isn’t “solidarity.”
In recent years, Western organizations ostensibly focused on gay and trans rights have increasingly become mouthpieces for anti-Israel lies created by Islamist groups. Recognizing the insanity of this, critics have compared these groups to “Chickens for KFC.” After all, in Palestinian societies, people are slaughtered for being gay or anything else in the LGBTQ+ family. Almost 100% of Palestinians believe homosexuality should be banned. (Hear a Palestinian father explain how his son, a murderer, became beloved once it was exposed that the victim was gay.)
The response from these groups is pretty much always the same. It boils down to: No, we just stand in solidarity with “oppressed” people. But just like the propaganda they spout, this claim is false. And new figures make clearer than ever that the people they’re aligning themselves with in the West do not stand in solidarity with them.
Big mainstream media have hidden this data because it doesn’t serve their narratives. But in the latest episode and newsletter of They Stand Corrected, fact checking the news, I report the findings.
This form of radicalization, in which “progressive” groups work to destroy the only LGBTQ+-safe nation in the Middle East, may have reached its zenith at a Human Rights Campaign ceremony earlier this year. Lunatic actress Hannah Einbinder, a leading #AsAJew, used her speech to push lies that even went beyond Hamas’ preposterous claims at the time. In this episode, you’ll hear how her lies got huge applause, while her brief lip service to Israeli victims of the October 7 massacres barely registered.
But while these groups bend over backward to ignore reality and push Hamas narratives like the easily disproved claims of “genocide,” U.S. Muslims — by far the largest Hamas backers in the United States — are not returning the favor. The latest survey shows that American Muslims have turned even further against LGBTQ+-friendly positions.
According to the Public Religion Research Institute, support for same-sex marriage is up among virtually everyone in the United States, with Jewish support now at 83%. But Muslims are the exception. From 2023 to 2024, their support plummeted from 40% down to only 33%. Fewer American Muslims also now support LGBTQ+ non-discrimination laws. And they’re more open to laws requiring sex at birth on licenses.
LGBTQ+ groups are creating new dangers for their own hard-earned rights. A couple of years ago, community activists worked to help get the nation’s first all-Muslim city council elected. Once in power, the council banned Pride flags. Activists said they were shocked — shocked! And felt “betrayed.” But if they had simply opened their eyes to reality, they could have avoided this.
If these groups actually wanted to support oppressed people, they’d be supporting Israel so it can continue to be a safe haven for LGBTQ+ people from across the entire Arab and Muslim worlds.
“Solidarity” is a two-way street. What these groups are doing is, by definition, not solidarity. It’s useful idiocy.
