We Are Witnesses to Our Thoughts, Words, Acts

We Are Witnesses to Our Thoughts, Words, Acts

Double Torah Portion- Acharei Mot and Kedoshim

(Leviticus- chapter 16 to 20, v 27)

We are witnesses to our thoughts, words, acts:

To examine each, to avoid regret.

Does our conscience lead or is it led, betrayed

By thoughts, words, deeds prior to being vetted?

Are choices made as to where thoughts take us,

To words uttered and acts manifested?

Are we more careful of food we partake

Than of words uttered and of acts played out?

Do we count each day or make each day count,

Weighing the consequence of each thought, word, deed?

Thus to ” love our neighbor as ourselves”

Needs an inventory of each thought, word and deed.

To protect the orphan, the widow and

The stranger is an extension of ourselves.
