We did not do enough, and we are all at fault: Part I
Terrorists parade coffins of slain families with mass murderers as guests, and we, we are all to blame for our collective responses, both as Israelis and as citizens of the world at large. How can you sit and watch these murderers parade victims repeatedly in front of the world media and still claim that these Gazans are innocent, and more that you yourself are innocent? If you are at all aware of what has happened, you, too, are complicit in the war crimes of the Hamas-led government and its various also-cruel and murderous allies.
None of us has done enough to bring home the remaining hostages alive, nor have we done enough to make sure the events of October 7, 2023, can never happen again to Jews or to anyone else. Israel is still not safe, nor are her residents and citizens until everyone is home and those responsible for the war crimes and attempted genocide of Israelis by those in power and power-adjacent in Gaza, as well as the West Bank (of the River Jordan) based Palestinian Authority, are accounted for, and justice has been served.
No more prisoner transfers until every last hostage is home, until each and every hostage that can be returned alive is home with their families recovering. No more displays of weakness that allow the Hamas-led coalition to remain in power, nor to allow the UN nor the Red Cross to operate within this contested territory. These so-called humanitarian groups, as well as all human-rights groups that have glorified the cruelty of “resistance,” the inhumanity of rape-apologists who say things like “rape is resistance,” and those who have at all supported them at any and every extent, all need to be prosecuted, and justice served.
Because no bias can be completely eliminated, we will ensure that those from across the political and religious spectrum are included so that the bias weighs out as evenly as we can muster.
The prime minister and all who were in power in the coalition within the past 2 years, since October 7th and the events leading up to it, they must resign immediately, and new elections must be called with NO party being allowed to enter if they call for genocide, erasure, or oppression of another. The judiciary and all other branches must be given back their power and power restored to those who actually have Israel’s best interests in mind for ALL citizens and residents, not just those who are Jewish enough to count for their interests.
The Declaration of Independence must be heeded meaningfully if we are to have true peace and shalom bayit within our land and lands beyond. No more second or third-class citizens. No more areas that get less simply because we want those people gone. A truly peaceable and equal opportunity dream must become reality here, or we will never find that which we all desperately seek: a Jewish home for all who come here, respecting of and accepting of others rights to be here, too.
