We’re here

But how did we get here?

How do people get born, with a nose and mouth and eyes and ears, and all perfectly placed on each face?

Who are we? Why are we here? And how did we get created?

Fluke of nature?

Wonders don’t just happen. They’re orchestrated.

A symphony doesn’t just happen. The music doesn’t come from nowhere. Musicians, instruments, a conductor. It takes planning, coordination, and talented people to create a symphony. It doesn’t just happen by itself.

Creation doesn’t just happen. The world was created ex nihilo, out of nothing. But it wasn’t created by nothing.

So now that we’re here, the obvious question that begs to be addressed is, how. And why.

How? By G-d.

Why? To make the world holy. Where G-d can dwell here.

How do we know this? The Torah tells us.

How do we know the Torah is truly G-d’s wisdom? Because of G-d’s revelation to millions at Mount Sinai.

He told us what we should do. Jews should study Torah, put on Tefillin, eat kosher, light candles before Shabbat, observe the laws of family purity, love each other, put a kosher mezuza on each door, give charity, fill the house with Jewish holy books, teach children, etc.

And G-d told Moses, at Mount Sinai, the seven Noahide laws, to tell all nations. Adhering to these laws will bring a peaceful world.

So there it is, plain and simple.

When you know how and why, the future shines brightly. And we hasten the arrival of Moshiach, when “the whole world will be filled with knowledge of G-d, just as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11; 9)
