What Do We Want To Give To Our Children

What Do We Want To Give To Our Children

What do we want to give to our children?

What future heritage shall we instill?

To listen, learn to see truth, find a voice.

With no silence as acquiescence to injustice.

Never to turn away from a widow,

An orphan or a stranger, as alone

Should only be a stone and even,

A stone should not be alone.

To ensure humility, not arrogance

Is enrobed in attitude and demeanor.

That thirteen filters prepare each word uttered;

Not to hurt, dishonor or shame any one.

All to create a more caring, secure

And sensitive world for them and for us all.
