What Does the World Want Israel to Do?

When we, the people of Israel, strengthen our connection, a greater connection will spread to the world. When we build this unity, we will rise from the lowest pit to the highest mountain. This path is still ahead of us.

Kabbalistic sources have long written about the world rising up against Israel. It needs to happen. As the people of Israel, we do not agree with it, nor do we accept it as a blessing, but it is part of the human evolutionary process that leads ultimately to a better, harmonious, and peaceful world.

It comes as an outcome of our incomplete work in the direction of what made us the people of Israel to begin with: unity (“love your neighbor as yourself”) above differences and divisions (“love will cover all crimes”) in order to spread this unifying tendency worldwide (to be “a light unto the nations”). Therefore, we must connect even more strongly, with open hearts toward one another, and invite the positive force dwelling in nature into our connection.

What will result? The nations of the world, who currently feel an urge to oppose us, will eventually discover the opposite: that through us, they can discover a harmonious connection. When the world rises up against Israel, its inner demand is to seek a good life. But the nations of the world do not yet know how to achieve this, because a truly good life comes when people harmoniously connect, which is specifically the ability and idea that distinguished the people of Israel from the ancient Babylonians some 4,000 years ago, and which the nations of the world lack. Our role is to provide a unifying example and to pass on the positive unifying force to humanity, and until we do, the world’s demands on Israel will grow ever more fierce.
