Michel M.J. Shore

What Is The Country Doing To Itself

What Is The Country Doing To Itself

What is the country doing to itself?

The infighting creates the greatest turmoil,

Sapping thought, energy, time and resources

Inflicting shame, embarrassment, dishonor,

It is a plight on ethical temperature

And on the barometer of morality.

What kind of accounting of the soul

And statement of income tax of acts and essence

Is examined by everyone as is proper

In an annual self- examination.

It is a bankruptcy of spirit

To witness the sacrifice of so many

For the fraction who has disregarded decency.

It is with greatest shame and pain that I write these words.
