What Is the General Role of the Jews in the Bible?

The role of the Jews in the human puzzle is to unite (“love your neighbor as yourself” [Leviticus 19:18]) above differences and divisions (“love will cover all crimes” [Proverbs 10:12]) in order to become a conduit for the positive unifying force dwelling in nature to spread worldwide (to become “a light unto the nations” [Isaiah 42:6, 9]).

Since we have not yet done so, egoistic influences intensify in the world. Therefore, suffering abounds more and more throughout humanity. Anger and frustration intensifies, and much of it becomes directed at us.

Without knowing why, more and more people around the world feel that something positive should extend from our nation, and their growing experience of negative phenomena in their lives brews hatred toward those who block them from a harmonious, peaceful, and happy experience of life.

The original attitude that formed the Jewish nation was brotherly love, which blossomed out of the bitter divisiveness that tore away at society some 4,000 years ago in ancient Babylon. Tenets like “take no revenge and cherish no grudge against your own people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) and “How good and how pleasant it is, when brothers dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1) describe the unifying values that initially brought us together as a nation.

Therefore, if we set out to treat each other kindly, above the rejection and hatred that surfaces, we will see how we attract a positive force into the world. The more we apply ourselves to such a motion together, the more we will feel that nature itself stands by our side, helping us rise.

In our advanced positive attitudes that we develop toward each other, a harmonious and peaceful calmness will spread throughout the world, up to a point of absolute perfection and eternity. Likewise, if we remain in our respective corners, letting divisive drives tear us apart, then humanity will also increasingly suffer from a lack of the positive force entering their lives, and they will turn their attention to us with a frown. From within, they will feel a need to pressure the blockage in the system in order to unblock it and let the positive force flow through to them.

It is my hope that we will realize our role in the world sooner rather than later, and by doing so, spare ourselves and humanity much suffering.
