What is the world

People walk by. Children on bicycles or scooters. Cars in a rush to get quickly to places.

Sometimes we sit in a car and look out, watching the trees slowly moving in the breeze, swaying back and forth, a blue sky above; houses, buildings, lawns with flowers.

What is the world? An oasis of beauty waiting for us to achieve.

Birds fly by, inspiring us to feel that we too can fly — even physically, but certainly spiritually — fly to the sky above, above the tree tops, above everything, and then, with the gently blowing breeze, bring the spiritualness down into our world.

Torah, G-d‘s manual of instructions for life, containing His wisdom and will, enables us to do all this. We can fly with the Torah. We can bring G-d‘s wisdom and desire for a dwelling place in this world, into actuality, by fulfilling His commandments.

As the sun begins to set, some look at it as darkness, scary — antisemitism flares in the world. Some are petrified, wondering what will become.

A bird flies and a child rides a bike. Cars go to places in an orderly fashion, obeying traffic rules. There are rules that G-d gave us on how to run our lives in an orderly, safe, and peaceful fashion.

G-d’s wisdom enables us to make this world a peaceful place, a place where G-d and people can come together in infinite pleasure and wonder. Where we can look around and tell ourselves that it’s a beautiful G-dly world.

Torah’s light dispels the darkness.

Redemption seems very close. The world is becoming a place where our most wonderful dreams of peace and prosperity are just above the horizon, and blessings descend quickly.

A time of peace. A time of G-dliness revealed.

May we see it very soon
