When Hamas met Bin Laden

When Hamas met Bin Laden…

So the woke West is falling over itself to be the quickest to condemn Israel for striking the heart of the beast that is Hamas. Our very own Penny Wong was, as usual, quick off the mark in doing 4 breakfast TV interviews and generally proclaiming how evil of Israel it was to try to take out the Hamas leadership.  Macron of France, not busy enough with replacing his third prime minister in 9 months, was equally robust in his condemnation as was Carney of Canada and Stormy Starmer of Britain. Oh, how they wail and wring their hands. The poor ill ill-treated Hamas. The victims of Israeli what exactly?

Because here’s the thing- when the US went after Osama Bin Laden the West was beside itself in congratulatory rhetoric. But now, when Israel does exactly the same thing, oh how evil, how wrong because Hamas was,of course, right on the verge of agreeing ( to reject) another hostage deal to which Israel had signed up. If anyone in their right mind thinks that Hamas will ever agree to releasing the hostages without something held over them, they are seriously deluded. Israel was told not to go to Rafah, not to bomb Iran, not to bomb Hezbollah. In each case they rejected the appeasing entreaties by their so -called friends and did what was necessary. The results? A changed Middle East with Israel showing that today is not 1492 ( message to Spain) or 1290 ( message to England) and that the time for bullying  Jews has passed.

People don’t love dead Jews, but they sure as hell loathe Jews who have the temerity to fight back and defend themselves.

The last weeks have seen a tsunami of Jew hatred around the world. The rallies where it is now entirely normal to brandish not just Palestinian flags but flags of Hamas and the Islamic Republic are justified in the name of free speech. Bondi Beach, where taking a dog means a hefty fine, has just ‘moved on’ a man on a horse waving a Palestinian flag. No fine for him.

Spain, it would appear, is regretting its Reconquista and is now awaiting the return of the Moors. England is by all accounts looking forward to the voluntary departure of its Jews, which, if Stormy Starmer continues, will be sooner rather than later. Starmer has shown himself to be Corbyn Light. Or perhaps not so Light.

Canada is considering its relations with Israel. Canada, which produced such great Jewish creatives like Mordecai Richler and Leonard Cohen, has fallen.

Belgium is fast becoming a no-go zone for Jews.

And those of us who watch these things are on alert, on guard and probably on anti depressants.

The life we knew has passed. When talking to a non-Jew Jew we Jews wonder- which side are they on? Do they believe that Israel is the epitome of all evil, the crucible of all that ails the world? Worse than North Korea and Russia and China? Evidently, we  don’t see rallies and marches about them. We don’t see anything about the starvation in Sudan or killings in Nigeria. Only Israel.

So when Israel takes out or endeavours to take out its arch enemy the world wails as if it were Mother Teresa attacked.

I know hypocrisy when I see it. For example, the weeping and wailing and cloth tearing as a result of the attack on Hamas was not evident after the terrorist attack in Jerusalem a few days ago, which left 6  dead and 17 wounded.  Dead Jews? Nothing to see here. Dead terrorists – what a crime.

All that is required for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing. We are constantly being told that the silent majority are against the pro Palestinian propaganda machine. But unless they start ending their silence the winner will be the propogandists and the world will arrive at a very dark place.

The time to end the silence is now.

The time to speak out and be heard is now.

As it is with domestic violence, stop blaming the victim. Don’t just be a silent bystander but speak out for what is right and what is just. Don’t succumb to hypocrisy.

Standing up for what is right is not easy, but the difference between knowing what is right and wrong and speaking out about it can be the difference between the world falling into a dark age and the loss of Western civilisation, or the continuation of our freedoms.

It is up to you to choose.
