By acting decisively and independently, Israel has transformed from an isolated, client state into world-leading power

It was Israel who was uniquely threatened by Iran; it was Israel who launched the first strike; it was Israel who killed Ali Khamenei; it was Israel who established air superiority over Iran. Yet Israel is not alone, she leads a global coalition of states against the Islamic Republic including her regional neighbors, the European powers, and the United States.

This has only become possible because of the precedent Israel has set over the last three years of war. In defying both rhetorical and functional opposition by the United States in launching a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip in October 2023, of conquering Rafah in May 2024, and decapitating Hezbollah in September 2024, Israel has made clear that it will act in her national interest regardless of international, and even American opinion. The countries of the world are left with two options in the face of Israeli action; to fall in line or to remain quiet.

Against Iran we can see the first fruits of this renewed national independence; when Israel leads, the world has followed. When Israel is steadfast in her convictions, acting decisively and independently towards her national security even at the cost of defying the international order, she does not isolate herself but rather builds a new order around her leadership.

These last three years of war, but particularly this most recent operation against Iran, mark a new era in Israel’s international relations. Israel is no longer “little Satan” nor a rogue state but a wholly independent power well on her way to regional hegemony and global leadership.

When Israel leads, the world follows. The only question left is “where to?”
