When Terror Wears a Different Flag

In the beginning of the October 7th war, those who stood with Israel used the hashtag #HamasIsISIS,  not as a slogan, but as a statement of reality. We saw it with our own eyes: the brutality, the cruelty, the complete absence of humanity. Hamas’ actions on that dark day went beyond war crimes,  they were acts of terror, barbarism, and ideological hatred, no different from the atrocities committed by ISIS or Al-Qaeda.

Fast-forward to October 2025. After years of agony, Israel finally brought home the few remaining living hostages. A historic deal, brokered by President Donald J. Trump, offered a fragile moment of relief. But it was not peace. The bodies of the deceased hostages still remain in Gaza, Hamas refuses to return them. Even now, in the supposed aftermath, they continue to slaughter their own people, proving once again that their existence thrives only through destruction, never through peace.

The world calls this a “humanitarian crisis.” But let’s be honest,  this is a self-inflicted massacre by a terror regime that values martyrdom more than life. Gaza is bleeding because Hamas made it bleed.

And yet, what is more shocking than their crimes is the reaction or rather, the silence of the world.

The Double Standard: When Terror is Tolerated

When ISIS overran Mosul, enslaved Yazidi women, and massacred Shia cadets in the Camp Speicher massacre, the world united in outrage. When Al-Qaeda attacked New York on 9/11, the entire planet rallied around the “War on Terror.” The United States, Europe, and even several Arab states launched coalitions to fight this evil. No one hesitated. No one asked for “both sides.”

But when Israel defends itself against the same ideology, the global response is the opposite: condemnation, boycotts, and blame.

Why?

What changed?

The ideology of Hamas is not new. It is the same takfiri extremism that fueled ISIS and Al-Qaeda, the same warped belief that anyone who disagrees with their interpretation of Islam deserves death. Hamas, like ISIS, uses religion as a weapon, not as faith. Their goal is not freedom for Palestinians; it is obliteration of Jews and the end of Israel.

So why is the world now treating Israel as the villain for doing what it once proudly called “fighting terrorism”?

The Atrocities We Forgot

Let’s remind ourselves of what terror truly looks like:

• ISIS in Iraq and Syria (2014–2019) butchered entire Muslim villages for refusing to pledge allegiance. In Raqqa and Mosul, children were executed in front of their parents.
• 1,700 Shia cadets were lined up and shot in cold blood at Camp Speicher, one of the worst mass executions of Muslims by Muslims in modern history.
• Al-Qaeda in Iraq, the precursor of ISIS, bombed mosques, funerals, and markets, all Muslim targets,  to provoke sectarian chaos.
• Yazidis, Christians, Kurds, and even Sunni Muslims who opposed them were enslaved, raped, and executed.
• In Afghanistan and Pakistan, Al-Qaeda and the Taliban murdered teachers and girls for seeking education, branding them “Westernized.”

Their excuse? “Purifying Islam.”

Their justification? “Restoring the Caliphate.”

Their result? The slaughter of tens of thousands of Muslims,  men, women, and children,  in the name of “faith.”

And yet, these groups were universally condemned. The West fought them with everything it had; militarily, politically, ideologically. But now, when Hamas commits the same crimes, using human shields, executing dissenters, and killing their own,  the outrage is gone. The same world that once said, “We will never negotiate with terrorists,” now urges Israel to “exercise restraint.”

The Deafening Silence

Today, less than 36 hours after the hostages were returned, Hamas has turned its weapons on its own people again. Civilians who dare to speak out are executed. Entire families accused of “collaboration” are slaughtered in the streets. And the world? Silent.

No mass protests for the Gazans murdered by Hamas.
No hashtags for the Palestinians begging to escape Hamas’ grip.
No outrage when Hamas steals aid or hides weapons in schools and hospitals.

The silence is deafening.

This is not about politics. It’s about morality.

When the world stays quiet while terror reigns, it teaches the next generation that some forms of violence are acceptable as long as they are directed at Jews.

A Holocaust of Truth

Make no mistake: Hamas has turned Gaza into a living graveyard, not only for its people but for truth itself. They burn aid trucks, execute dissenters, and broadcast lies and the world swallows them whole.

The word “genocide” is now used against Israel; the one nation that has consistently offered humanitarian aid, medical care, and evacuation routes even to its enemies. Meanwhile, Hamas executes its own and parades the dead for cameras.

If Israel is blamed once again for defending itself, then the world has learned nothing from history.

Because this is how it starts:with silence, with excuses, with moral blindness.

The Question We Must Ask

Imagine, for a moment, that Israel needs to defend itself again tomorrow,  as it inevitably will. What will happen? The same script will play out: Israel will be blamed, excluded, and shamed for doing what every other nation is applauded for:  protecting its citizens from terror.

Is this truly the world we want to live in?

A world that condemns Israel for surviving,
while excusing those who glorify death?

A world that cheers when terrorists “resist,”
but weeps only when they fall?

It is more than sad and shocking,  it is the collapse of moral clarity.

Israel’s Fight Is Humanity’s Fight

The war against Hamas is not just Israel’s war. It is the same war humanity once fought against ISIS, against Al-Qaeda, against every ideology that celebrates death over life.

Israel is standing on the front line of that battle as the last fortress between civilization and chaos. And whether the world admits it or not, if Israel falls, the same terror will not stop at her borders.

It never has.

The world must remember: Terrorism is terrorism, no matter the flag.

And standing with Israel is not just a political choice,  it is a moral one.

Because in this world of silence and selective outrage, Israel remains the voice that still says “Never Again” and means it.
