When Will We Weigh the Needs of History?

When Will We Weigh the Needs of History?

 My grandparents’ and parents’ values last;

They are eternal for generations.

Innovation remains; novelty fades,

When we witness life’s passing assembly line.

What do we see, realize, acknowledge?

That most passes as a phase in life’s maze.

And, what then stands the test of time for gain?

When civilization and culture exude meaning

For betterment and progress that ensues.

When will we weigh the needs of history

Rather than lose precious time in waste?

When we accept the most  precious commodity of all

And choose benefit from thought, word and deed.

Only G-d has monopoly on truth;

That is why we must all be objective

By admitting our subjectivity

In recognition of a greater good.

For a future tied to the past and present

That gives meaning to fulfillment with gain.
