Where I’ve seen crowds of Gazans in the last year and a half
1. Storming the fence into Israel to ransack homes, and rape, torture, mutilate, murder and kidnap Jewish men, women, children and babies (and people of other nationalities who were in the wrong place at the wrong time)
2. Being told to move out of their homes to temporary dwellings so that the IDF could try to rescue hostages and/or fight Hamas
3. Attending cruel hostage parades, especially that of the baby Bibas bodies (this crowd included children)
4. This week: Marching in protest of Hamas, saying, Hamas doesn’t represent us. Hamas, leave Gaza.
I have many questions which most/all of us just speculate the answers to.
Like, how many people have attended more than one of these events?
What do you mean exactly when you say that Hamas doesn’t represent you? The parts where they make your lives miserable or also the parts where they put all their efforts into wiping us Jews off the face of this earth?
And if you’re braving the streets to oppose your oppressive leaders who’ve brought you no good, why aren’t you taking your moment of bravery to shout for the release of the hostages First, that would bring an end to the war as you know it (not necessarily the end of the war, but it would probably fundamentally change the nature of the war). And second, it would show you are truly in a different place morally than Hamas.
We know very well that one fundamentalist dictatorship could fall only for another fundamentalist dictatorship to take its place. So it’s nice to get excited about the crowd who’s shouting out against Hamas, but who is it that you, dear protestors, want instead? Which direction do you want Gaza to go in now (I guess you don’t want the Trump version)?
And besides the hostage question, most importantly, did you support Oct 7th then and how do you feel about it now deep inside?
