Anti-Yang racism in US politics and at CNN is alive and doing well
This should be so obvious. It’s the same as men not letting women speak is sexist. To feel threatened or otherwise uncomfortable when women make their points. Or they feel pressed or obligated to display their superiority.
CNN has a history of hostility regarding Andrew Yang, but it reached a new low by ‘interviewing’ him about his new party but refusing to listen to him, let alone letting him finish what he has to say. It’s pure racist disrespect.
It’s one thing to be a critical interviewer and repeat questions dodged, but quite another when one doesn’t want the interviewee to be heard.
Look at how the same anchor on the same day interviews a fellow White guy who has little news to say:
In contrast to his Yang ‘interview,’ here he is cordial, friendly, and patient.
After pulling out of the 2020 presidential race, Yang joined CNN as a reporter. That relationship turned out not viable. The bitterness is at CNN. And the generosity was at Yang’s side when he joined CNN despite its previously underreporting (euphemism) of his presidential campaign.
It’s always shocking when left-wing politicians and reporters pay lip service to anti-bigotry but show no control over their bigoted behavior.
Meanwhile, Yang blames Fox News and CNN in one breath for causing the polarization the US suffers from. That won’t make him any friends at CNN.
Yet, not everyone at CNN is hostile at him, interrupting him all the time:
Actually, Yang’s strategy has been all along to be smart and flexible. In the end, that will win the day over all the old, familiar rigidities.
His commitment against all extremism is a clear winner too. The US might finally enter real democracy as Yang & Co take over. The We the People.
Meanwhile, we can assume Trump to resist every step on his way to jail. Expect neo-Nazis, supremacists, QAnon, and Trump looneys to get violent.
And that besides the danger of an imminent WW III, as Kissinger warns.
