Who is Rahm Emanuel?
Rahm Emanuel, one of President Obama’s closest friends and advisors, went to Israel. He trashed the government, attacked the Prime Minister, and flat out threatened the country’s existence.
What American politician would go to another country and behave the way Rahm Emanuel did? The answer is absolutely nobody would do it who had any semblance of sanity.
You will not see Zohran Mamdani, the socialist Mayor of New York City, go to any Muslim country and demand that they stop murdering Black Christians in Africa. You will not see any Asian politician go to China and threaten China because of its annihilation of Muslim citizens. No prominent American Indian politician will go to India and demand that Hindus stop their slow extermination of their Muslim citizens.
No one would do what Rahm Emanuel did. However, the former mayor of Chicago is so desperate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 2028 that he will do absolutely anything. He knows no boundaries, no taste, and has no respect for the truth.
Rahm Emanuel’s prostitution for the hard left of the Democratic Party will win him no friends. Already, the left is saying that Emanuel was not negative enough when it came to Israel and the Jewish people. What the tired old politician from the Midwest does not know, appreciate, or care about is that those who hate Israel would not suddenly support him or love Israel because one bumbling old fool is willing to run the knife through his own gut.
There are people in this world who are so politically ambitious that their lies and maneuvers do not know any limits. In his speech, Rahm Emanuel called for measures that would mean the destruction of the State of Israel. He has joined with those who have not seen enough Jews killed in the last 100 years, so that he can improve his chances to be President of the United States. It will not help him. In fact, Mr. Mayor not only showed his ignorance but also his inability to have any understanding of world affairs.
When an American politician goes to another country and tells that country how to behave, they always do the opposite. No one wants to be a Banana Republic for the United States. But Rahm Emanuel had the chutzpa to tell Israelis, who are fighting and dying for their land, that they should give up their security, their leadership, and ultimately their lives so that he, Rahm Emanuel, can burnish his hard left credentials.
If the United States refuses to aid Israel militarily, the United States will no longer receive the technological support that it needs to remain the world’s number one superpower. Rahm Emanuel does not care about the United States either. He would denude our own military in his quest to please the enemies of our nation.
The former Chicago party bossman believes that Israel should create another terrorist state on the West Bank of the Jordan River which, as presidential candidate Al Gore once aptly described would be a knife in the belly of the Jewish state.
The particular hatred spewed by Rahm Emanuel was directed to Israel’s Prime Minister. Some Americans, in a remarkable showing of ignorance, equate Prime Minister Netanyahu with Donald Trump. They have transferred their distain, distrust, and malevolency for Trump to anybody they consider “Trump-like.” Since Prime Minister Netanyahu gets along with Trump, what small nation would not, the Prime Minister must be as bad as Trump is.
The only true indictment of Prime Minister Netanyahu is that he has fought for his country, that his brother died for Israel, and that he has done a rather remarkable job getting along with other countries who seek the destruction of the Democratic West. Israel helped Muslim Arab countries when Iran attacked them. The State of Israel has been a friend to both India and China. There have been many years where on a per capita basis, Israel was the highest donor to those fighting starvation in Africa. We do not hear any of that from Rahm Emanuel, and you will not.
The future Presidential candidate can read the tea leaves. He has decided that so many people in the Democratic Party hate democracy, freedom, and capitalism, and he must jump on the bandwagon. With a large component of the Democratic Party seeking the ascendancy of Arab tyrants and the destruction of the Jewish State, the path forward for Rahm Emanuel is clear: Destabilize Israel, get rid of its leadership, and treat Israel as a blue 51st state.
What people like Rahm Emanuel seek in Israel is a hard left socialist country which will bend its knee to the tyrannical rule of the Rahm Emanuels of the world. When Rahm Emanuel touts the Obama nuclear agreement with Iran, he ignores the fact that most of the elements of that agreement were voluntary on the part of Iran. Iran would have been permitted to build better centrifuges to make more powerful atomic bombs, and more quickly. The Obama deal would have permitted Iran to store its uranium in both Russia and China. However, perhaps most importantly, the Obama agreement had a provision to give Iran thermonuclear technology, the fusion technology responsible for the creation of a hydrogen bomb. Insane is probably too weak a word for the Obama-Iran Agreement.
So, what do we do about a proto-candidate so intent on power that he would not hesitate to seek the denuding of a friend and ally? How do we handle one who has no regard for democracy in the Middle East and publicly announces his desire to stab American friends in the back?
The answer, as always, is to stay informed. Now that we know the future of the Democratic Party and its agenda, it is important to look for alternatives. Perhaps it is time for a third party, a break away from the Democratic Party. Is the Republican Party flexible enough to absorb Democratic malcontents?
While Rahm Emanuel received all the publicity that he wanted by throwing his fate with those who hate Israel, hate America, and hate Rahm Emanuel for being a Jew, it is likely that he will fail in all of his endeavors. If the future candidate stood up for himself, his people, and the American way, he might have had a real opportunity to spark a worthwhile debate about the direction of American foreign policy.
The once Chicago Mayor’s tirade in Israel, and to the Israeli press, is the end of his candidacy for President of the United States, not the beginning. Now that he has put the stamp of approval of Democratic antisemitism, the inevitable slide towards destruction of the party will only accelerate.
We used to call people like Rahm Emanuel “Uncle Toms.” The reference was to Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel entitled Uncle Tom’s Cabin, about the indignities suffered by slaves in the South prior to the civil war. Abraham Lincoln referred to Stowe as the “little woman” who started the Great War. Nevertheless, her book title became synonymous with those African Americans who were willing to sell their own people out for acceptance by American bigots. The Democrats who controlled the south for more than a century insured the reenslavement of the Black population after the Civil War.
Rahm Emanuel is a “Uncle Tom” to the Jewish community. His selling out of his identity, his people, and the robustly democratic State of Israel, surrounded by a sea of hatred, will in the end be for naught. He has disgraced himself, spread vicious and untruthful information, and ultimately will fail to win friends by fratricide.
