Who Is the Hero?

Who is the hero – one who conquers his own desire,

Or one who claims what’s not his, reaching higher?

Who is the hero – the unseen spiritual guide,

Or the believer willing to die

For the earthly cause they hold so near?

Who is the hero – following his heart’s soft plea,

Or the one whom millions watch and see?

Who is the hero – expanding self’s vast scope,

Or one who broadens human knowledge’s hope?

Who is the hero – the pioneer or the settler’s way?

The hedonist or the fixer saving day?

No, I do not wish to be a hero today!
