Who To Support in the War in Israel: A Guide
Here’s a handy guide to help you decide who to support in the current conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. I’ll try avoid mentioning names, so you can get a gut feel about who you support.
***
One side has been longing to return to their land for the last 2,000 years, “By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion.” It built a country out of desert and swamps: created kibbutzim, collective villages, a thriving tech sector, and an incredible healthcare innovation system.
The other side started claiming the land as their own about 100 years ago.
One side reached out its hand in peace numerous times, to live side by side in mutual cooperation and prosperity.
The other side responded with the “3 No’s:” No peace, no recognition, no negotiations. The MAJORITY of this side, according to independent polling data, do NOT want a peaceful solution AT ALL. THEY DO NOT WANT PEACE. EVER. Only 21% polled wanted negotiations. They don’t want a 2-state solution, or a peaceful coexistence, they want a war of destruction no matter the consequences.
One side is a vibrant democracy respecting the rights of all people no matter religion, gender, sexual orientation etc. There are Muslim Supreme Court judges, gay Parliament members, and this country had the world’s third female Prime Minister in Golda Meir.
The other side is a violent dictatorship – the last elections were held almost 20 years ago (Hamas won). It’s completely corrupt, and invests in terrorism instead of building a country. Rather than building hospitals and schools, it uses hundreds of thousands of tons of concrete to build terror tunnels, and millions of dollars to build rockets designed to hit civilians.
On the right: Palestinian rockets launched indiscriminately at Israeli cities from within densely populated civilian areas. On the left: Israel’s Iron Dome which has saved countless lives.
One side longs for peace. It has always stretched out its hand in peace, including making painful concessions. “Peace” is a constant term in public discussions and songs, and is a goal for all mainstream political parties.
The other side has rejected every peace offer ever presented, including those brokered by the U.S. There is no peace movement, no peace-oriented political parties, even the so-called “moderates” are extreme. This side straight-out lies, and believing these lies is part of their culture: (e.g. Hamas telling the international media, straight-faced, “We only killed and abducted soldiers”)
One side has the highest regard for human rights, and seeks to avoid civilian casualties; it creates humanitarian corridors, provides warnings to civilians, and every civilian death in the war zone is not greeted with triumph but with a sense of tragedy. Its people want to live a normal life, working, going to dance parties, chilling on the beach, traveling the world.
The other side sees civilians, including women and children, as legitimate targets for murder and rape, while several genocidal terror organizations are part of the official government. Terrorists are officially rewarded for killing civilians by the government, with a monthly salary and a “pay-to-slay” policy.
One side’s population was attacked, unprovoked, in a brutal and barbaric savage assault. Babies were murdered, children murdered and abducted, women raped.
The other side, even after the most horrific massacre in October of 2023, including rape and murder of women, and abduction and murder of children and the elderly, did not condemn the event – in fact many celebrated it.
Palestinians in the West Bank city of Nablus celebrate on October 7, 2023, after terrorists from the Gaza Strip infiltrated Israel, carrying out massacres, abductions and rape.
One side is supported by millions of courageous people across the globe who see the truth, and who will go down in history as choosing the side of enlightenment, honesty, justice and Good.
The other side is supported by hysterical, violent mobs no matter the atrocities, no matter the truth, no matter the lies they’re told. These supporters will celebrate a society that persecutes gays, oppresses women, and targets civilians including children and babies.
They shout in a frenzy “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” which means massacring the citizens of another country – including children – and destroying it. And they’re proud of this.
They talk about “the occupation” when excusing war crimes, yet know full-well that there has been no occupation in the Gaza strip for almost 20 years.
They support a movement that engages in suicide bombings, raping women, murdering babies, and abducting children and the elderly.
So, which side are you on?
Some personal notes:
Regarding supporting Hamas: no matter what the cause – real or imagined – there is no excuse to abduct, kidnap and murder children, or rape and murder women. Nothing. Not ever. So anyone claiming that Hamas is “justified” in what it did, or supports them in any way, is a disgusting, despicable, horrific person. Full stop.
For those that support the Palestinians/are anti-Israel for some bizarre reason, and claim that “Hamas doesn’t represent the Palestinians,” well, independent polling shows that:
- Nearly two thirds of Gazans (64%) say THEY WOULD VOTE FOR HAMAS’ Ismail Haniyeh as their ruler
- The MAJORITY of Palestinians (Gaza and West Bank) SUPPORT HAMAS (per official polling data) and Hamas WON the last legal general election held – with their genocidal aims a central part of their platform and well understood by the population
Mass Hamas rally in Gaza
- Again, The MAJORITY of Palestinians, according to polling data, do NOT want a peaceful solution AT ALL. THEY DO NOT WANT PEACE. EVER. Only 21% polled wanted negotiations. They don’t want a 2-state solution, or any solution, or peaceful coexistence, they want a war of destruction, no matter the consequences.
It’s so obvious. If you’re a decent, normal person of course you’ll support Israel.
