Why we cannot justify a diaspora ghetto mentality to dictate policy on Israel.

There’s something unique about Jews.

Jews have the oldest continuous civilization that functions today in a post-modern world, punching above its weight in contributions to mankind. How is this you might ask when throughout the ages there have been and still are Jews who suffer such a desire to blend into the mores of a host country that they will denigrate those who proudly carry forward this civilization?

They glory when Israel discovers a cure or launches a satellite, but they cower at the governance that creates a safe platform for those achievements to be nurtured. They support and join antisemitic progressives, failing to grasp that they’re supporting the demise of Israel. It’s almost as though they feel that a melding away into a globalised community will give them the desired acceptance into the belly of the non Jewish world.

Why then don’t they simply assimilate, after all many have diluted and reformed Judaism to such an extent that it hardly exists as Torah, even though they quote the bits they approve of. They could simply stop being Jews. Why must they insist on remaining Jews, embracing everything that Judaism isn’t, trying to ride tandem on a one saddle bicycle?

Surely the anti-Semitism they write about will go away if they just became what they desire, intrinsic particles of a non-Jewish world. Instead they are non-Jews in status, enjoying the trappings of the host state, with one eye on anti-Semitism, one foot in a temple, blaming their Jewish suffering on Israel and on those Jews whose lives are not dictated by a constant sense of rebalancing Judaism to fit a non Jewish brief, who are proud of Israel as the hub of the Jewish people and who place their trust in those who stand on the front line to defend her.

These objectors are mostly educated people. Some have even written great tomes about Jewish history. So why can’t these clever people understand that only since the recreation of Israel as the Jewish state have Jews developed the courage to stand tall as Jews, to speak out with a Jewish voice?

How is it they don’t know that the destruction of Israel will return Jews to a nonperson status in host countries that continue to harbor hatred for them? After all they write about it, they speak very eloquently about it, this hatred. Why can’t they see that the Axis pals of World War ll are alive and intifadaing in Israel and across the globe to take Jerusalem and the soul of the Jewish people?
