Winning
The swirling debate about whether or not Israel should annex the West Bank is a distraction. There is no need to deal with it. It’s basically a non-issue.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe advocated settling the West Bank extensively, without fanfare. Just settle it, and everyone will soon realize that the land will not be given away.
The Rebbe was against Palestinian self-autonomy, since historically this leads to independence.
And he strongly advocated that Israel should declare that they are not giving away any land.
In other words, regarding whether or not to annex the West Bank, there is no reason to discuss it. Just keep settling the land, announce that we are not giving away any land, and everything will work out.
Unfortunately, in the past, Israel didn’t always follow what the Rebbe said.
Oslo accords were followed by intifadas. Efforts to give away land encouraged terrorists, because they saw that, via terrorism, they could gain something.
But now the current government, and (according to a poll after October 7) two-thirds of Israelis, oppose giving away land for a Palestinian state. Everyone saw what happened after Gaza was given away. Risking to do the same in the West Bank would be foolhardy.
Nowadays Israel is occupied with exterminating terrorists. And the hardliners in the coalition, who wear head-coverings to signify their fear of G-d above, are adamantly against giving away any land.
This is the best way to deter the enemy and to avoid future wars, thus saving many lives, including Arab lives.
So Israel can ignore the annexation discussion. The important thing is to keep on going with strength and determination, and to trust in the Almighty to protect us and to bless Israeli efforts to defend Israel with success.
The good guys are winning. We are seeing clear miracles.
May we hear good news, and may the complete Redemption with Moshiach come very soon.
