Woe to Him Who Knows Nothing

It should come as no surprise that coaches in the NBA trend left. There are quite a few reasons for this but mostly it is because the NBA office in Manhattan and its television partner in Bristol, Connecticut, make sure everyone knows what the party line is and strongly encourages its members to follow both subtly and not so subtly.

Reporters like Sage Steele and Sam Ponder are no longer employed by that network because they veered too far off the leftist reservation. So when a friend sent me a story the other day about Warriors coach Steve Kerr, I was not confused by the coach’s lack of context or understanding of the situation. Kerr has always been at the forefront of leftist causes in the league along with his mentor Gregg Popovich who never saw a far-left stance he wouldn’t embrace. But what makes Kerr’s take on Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon so detached from reality is his own father, Malcom Kerr, was the president of American University of Beirut and was gunned down by Ibrahim Aqil and an accomplice who were associated with Islamic Jihad, pretty widely known at the time as a precursor to the newly formed Hezbollah terrorist Iranian offshoot. Ibrahim Aqil eventually became a Hezbollah commander and was also implicated in the bombing of the American marine barracks in 1983 that killed 241 American troops in Beirut. Israel decapitated both Aqil and his partner, but no thank you was forthcoming from the leftist icon. Instead we get this full mound of crap from the soon to be un-hired coach.

“There was an opening for Israel to handle their business with the Palestinians diplomatically that would have solidified the Abraham Accords and allowed stronger alliances with Arab countries that would have really cornered Iran. Instead, Israel sought revenge for October 7th and now seventy-two thousand Palestinians have been killed and Israeli settlers are taking over the West Bank illegally, with the approval of Israel’s government and the U.S. Ambassador, Mike Huckabee. That’s not a path to any sort of peace or security for Israel or the rest of the Middle East.”

Let’s say we delve into this truly ignorant statement which reeks of emotional immaturity and a total lack of understanding of the situation both on the ground and otherwise. The Palestinians he speaks of were in fact against the Abraham Accords from the start and perpetrated the October 7th attacks with the expressed intent of blowing up any potential deal between Saudi Arabia and Israel. What makes Kerr sound even dumber than he does is Iran and its proxies admitted this publicly. Dude, shut your mouth if you don’t know what you’re talking about. As Nachmanides said during his Disputation in Barcelona, “woe to him who knows nothing but thinks he is wise and erudite.” If any of you know this ignoramus, please inform him that Israel has made peace with all the countries involved in the Abraham Accords in addition to Egypt and Jordan, agreements albeit bad ones, which have held up for decades. Let him also know as recently as two days ago, the UAE deployed Israeli ingenuity in the form of Iron Dome missile defense batteries sent to them by Israel to protect its citizens from incoming ballistic fire from Iran. Kerr fails to mention the fact that Israel gave up the Sinai after capturing it following an Arab attack and did so for peace. He also seems to be unaware of the numerous peace offering Israel made to the PLO over the last twenty-plus years, all turned down by the very people he wants Israel to handle their business with. Evidently he is still unaware Israel painfully ripped its own citizens from their homes when they unilaterally pulled out of Gaza in 2005, for the sake of peace. That has proven to be a colossal deadly mistake. I challenge the brilliant philosopher to point out one agreement the so-called Palestinians didn’t break. But don’t let facts get in the way of leftist talking points.

What is more ballsy of this loser, yeah I said it, is he never once made public comments on the October 7th attack on Israel. Not one. Dude has plenty to say about most everything, but when it comes to dead Jews, silence. I pretty much have a rule I live by. If you didn’t have anything to say after Jews were slaughtered in front of their children and their children killed in front of their parents, you don’t get to say anything about what is happening in Gaza or anywhere else. No one cares what you have to say because you’re simply a hack and a far leftist one at that. He isn’t commenting on this as a detached observer as most might think; as if he is the moral arbiter of world events. He’s commenting on this as someone who was born and grew up in Beirut and Egypt. He may as well be wearing a keffiyah when he sits at the podium.

“But the answer does not lie in starting a war and killing innocent people.” Israel started a war? When exactly? Tell me, Mr. deep serious thinker, what should Israel have done after their citizens were raped, murdered, beheaded, mutilated and taken hostage? After their country was infiltrated, their people savagely murdered by a gleeful filthy enemy? The only thing which differentiates Kerr from any of the other faux commentators on this subject is he has a much larger bank account. Otherwise he is as stupid and misinformed as they are. No, idiot, we didn’t go to war for revenge. We went to war to get our people and bring them back home. Does anyone who cites numbers or bellyaches about women and children being killed ever once mention the war could have ended the next day if the Israeli’s had been returned? Anyone? Anywhere?

Just to underscore how warped and biased against the Jews-yeah I said Jews and not Israel because…well Jews- these people are, can anyone of these know-nothings answer why has the “baby-killing” stopped? Isn’t it interesting that a country who has its main goal as committing genocide stopped doing so as soon as their citizens had been returned?

Anyone?

Anywhere?

Steve? I can’t hear you…speak up…

Yesterday, I saw a fascinating study by Serge Milshtein which you can find on his Substack page. Here is a quote from Serge and it explains why Kerr and others use the unverified 72,000 number in his quote. “Only a negligible percentage of publications cite Israeli data, indicating a significant underrepresentation of Israeli sources. Hamas-provided data appears in the vast majority of publications. The media have chosen to rely almost entirely on information from a ministry fully controlled by the terrorist organization Hamas, while refusing to trust a state that is considered a full democracy according to Freedom House.”

Consider this for a moment. The world media chose to take at face value, numbers given to them by a terrorist group who were holding people hostage! You cannot hate the world media enough. One particular example of this malpractice was early on in the war when Israel was still trying to get a count of its own dead weeks later, an Islamic jihad rocket landed in a parking lot next to a hospital and within minutes the New York Times reported on its front page that Israel killed 500 people in a hospital in Gaza. Their source? Hamas. Within minutes that news spread all over the world. Under an avalanche of condemnation, Israel was vilified and of course protests erupted everywhere. Here we had the democratic state of Israel meticulously trying to figure out where their people were, how many were killed, who and how many were taken captive in the weeks following October 7th and within minutes Hamas dropped a 500 spot without even blinking an eye which the Times accepted as fact and spread this lie all around the world in an instant. The story got picked up by every outlet most citing the Times story. A few days later the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security posted this about the incident. “Perhaps the best evidence that Hamas is circulating fake news, both regarding the hospital explosion and in general, lies in the overall casualty figures cited by the Hamas-run Gazan Ministry of Health. According to the Ministry, 3,500 Gazans were killed in the first 12 days of fighting. This would mean approximately three hundred deaths a day – 15 times more than the average number of daily deaths in Gaza, according to data provided by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics for 2021. This would mean hundreds of bodies stacked outside Gaza’s morgues and mass burial sites – images of which have yet to be provided – or fabricated – by Hamas. In siding with Hamas, many are clearly not bothered by the facts.”

Serge hi-lights this last point and the numbers I am citing below regarding the use of Hamas information vs Israel’s come from his website. For brevity purposes instead of using Gazan Ministry of Health, being that they are the same thing, I will use Hamas and the IDF.

New York Times Hamas 100%, IDF 1%

CNN Hamas 100% IDF 1%

BBC Hamas 100% IDF 4%

Washington Post Hamas 100% IDF 4%

The Guardian Hamas 100% IDF 5%

Reuters Hamas 100% IDF 4%

To truly understand how evil and one-sided the media is when it comes to Israel, here are the following percentages these particular outlets challenged with any sort of skepticism with Hamas provided numbers: 0%

Want to know the skepticism attached to the numbers provided by Israel? ABC Australia 65% Washington Post 71% (Where democracy truly does die in daytime as well) the AP 65% BBC 43% Guardian 33%

Like the New York Times and the Washington Post, Kerr’s quotes these numbers as if they are fact. The true intellectually dishonest will put the UN stamp of approval on it by saying “the UN said” as a preface to the lie. And where does the UN get their numbers from?

Hamas.

A week or two ago the UN claimed 38,000 women and children were killed in the war. Where did they get the number as the basis of this claim?

Hamas

The Henry Jackson Society (HJS) actually deciphered all the numbers coming out of Gaza at two different points during the war. Some of their information is from 2025 but they dug into the reported numbers and found some interesting things no one tells you about. A few things of note. First, Hamas listed a significant amount of men as women. Odds are these men are fighters. It’s not just some rounding errors. What Hamas was relying on was the correct assumption that people would be quick to believe their lies about the Jews, and wouldn’t look into the nuts and bolts of their reports instead taking in these numbers as fact. And they were correct. Second, the data they released included natural deaths as deaths caused by Israel. I will address this below. Third, adults are listed as children. As a couple of examples, a 22 year old is listed as a 4 year old, a 31 year old is listed as an infant and their ID numbers reveal the truth about who they are. But Hamas knew the world would believe what they claim because…Jews. The HJS also reported that 98% of all media stories cited Hamas figures, only 5% cited Israel’s and most egregious of all, less than 2% of all these stories mentioned the Hamas figures were unverified or controversial.

Honest Reporting wrote the following on February 26 of this year. “The Hamas-run Ministry of Health has reported over 70,000 deaths in Gaza, including civilians. But closer examination of these numbers displays that it also includes an estimated 22,000-25,000 Hamas fighters, around 11,000 natural deaths, and 4,000 casualties caused by internal fighting amongst Gazans. With 1,000 deaths attributed to reporting errors, this suggests that 25,000 casualties were terrorists, and 36,000 were civilians.” Kinda makes that UN 38,000 number of killed women and children fed to it by Hamas seem a bit foolish huh? It will take them months if not years to correct it, but it won’t get the same headline that this one did. In fact, the now debunked Gaza famine claim they spread also got a minuscule mention when it was corrected in relative small print months later. It didn’t matter then either because just like the New York Times fake hospital bombing story, the damage was already done. Welcome to the Jew-hating world of the United Nations.

This is where the righteous spokesperson on morality, Steve Kerr, gets his numbers. Sounding like a true citizen of Lebanon, he continues: “Israeli settlers are taking over the West Bank illegally, with the approval of Israel’s government and the U.S. Ambassador, Mike Huckabee. That’s not a path to any sort of peace or security for Israel or the rest of the Middle East.” Yes, only a Middle East where Israel gets truncated and become dhimmis to his father’s murderers will terrorist sympathizers like Kerr be happy.

“Imagine being a parent of one of the one hundred and seventy-five girls who died when their school was bombed. Their loss, their suffering …” Excuse me? And you know this information is true how? Because Iran said so? Iran, really? Just stop. Close your mouth and stop. Where were you for two years when Israelis were in the tunnels and dungeons of Gaza? Where were you when released and rescued hostages told the world they were slaves in the homes of “innocent” Palestinians? Where were you when they said they were raped and abused? Where were you at the postgame podium calling for their release? Where were you, Steve, when parents of Israeli hostages appealed to anyone who would listen about their children and loved ones? Did their loss and their suffering not matter to you? You had two years to take a stand and make a statement on this cruelty, this pain and this suffering. You were silent! Where were you? Now you want to lecture Israel and what WE should do for peace? Now you comment on the actions we have had to take to keep our people safe?

Close your mouth and stop.

Kerr’s obvious hatred for Donald Trump and Israel are so deep that he chooses to rely on the word of Iran, in lieu of actual evidence, to make his arguments. I wonder what the people of Iran think about this situation. What would they advise him when it comes to believing the mullahs of Iran? It seems he has forgotten what it means to be free. Maybe it’s time for him go back home to truly appreciate the freedom allotted to those in America (and Israel!!) who are able to protest against their governments without being shot and killed as they continue to be in Iran and Gaza. It seems Steve has taken those freedoms for granted.

I have been coaching basketball since Kerr was in high school. I used to be a fan of his game and his coaching. But at some point in a person’s life there will come a time when you have to let the world know what you stand for and what you won’t stand for. This is one of those times. Looking back, I can honestly say I have had a most satisfying forty-plus year career in coaching. The lasting relationships I have from my seasons in the game I will cherish forever. I used to worry about what speaking out against established people in my profession would cost me. I was that kind of coward. My life has changed. I have passed the time when I give even one iota of a crap. I used to admire Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich for how they went about their work. I no longer have any respect for either one of them. Each time they veer out of their lane and start talking anything but basketball, I am reminded of the monkey from the children’s book Curious George. Fellas, you are here strictly to entertain. I don’t need to hear your opinions on life or world events. We put our hard earned money in the grinder and you dance and jump around like any good circus animal should. That is what you have become. No longer do I want to hear anything from the two of you on life. What you have to offer is worthless to me. Kerr’s sheer ignorance on the Middle East exposes what I can only assume was his dormant anti-Israel bias from his youth. Lest you think I am making assumptions or baseless accusations here, read or listen to what he has said and more importantly, to what he has not said.

No more messing around. We must take on the crowd who are hell-bent on destroying our people and our land whether through violence by the sword or violence by the word. Remember they were not there for us and never have been. October 8th exposed them all. The pretenders are feeling like rats on a sinking ship. But what else it did was identify that who are willing to stand by our side unconditionally and without equivocation and those who will not. We must have no more patience for those who do not, be they Jew or non-Jew. We don’t need you nor do we care to hear from you. And if it were ever the case that my writing were to cost me, I do not care. Not anymore. We must stop providing space anywhere in our lives for those who work to destroy us. Fighting on behalf of truth and even more so fighting against the lies which libel my people every day, are worth far more than whatever my career would have gotten me.

I hope the two Jewish owners of the Warriors think long and hard if they want this person to represent them anymore. From my vantage point, it appears Steve Kerr has worn out his welcome.

I hope his bosses agree.
