You Say Journalist

I say propagandist.

Rape apologist. Jihadi. Liar. Jew-hater. Anything but journalist.

Since October 7, 2023, the world has been asking me to mourn the people who are still trying to kill us. “We are,” as Lee Kern writes, “the only nation on earth that is attacked for not caring more about the lives of an enemy we’re fighting in a war than our own lives.”

Now I am being ask to mourn the loss of five so-called “journalists”, killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Nasser Hospital, which lost immunity on October 7, 2023, when Hamas hid hostages there; and which continues to harbor terrorists, six of whom were killed in the airstrike.

What is a journalist? A person who gathers information in the form of text, audio or pictures, processes it into a newsworthy form and disseminates it to the public. Outside the U.S., Journalists practice under the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Declaration of Principles and Global Charter of Ethics, excerpted here:

*Respect for the facts and for the right of the public to trust is the paramount duty of Journalists.

*Journalists will make sure to clearly distinguish factual information from commentary and criticism.

*Journalists shall report only in accordance with facts of which he/ she knows the origin.

*Journalists shall not suppress essential information or falsify any document.

*Journalists will demand free access to all sources of information and the right to freely investigate all facts of public interest.

*Urgency or immediacy in the dissemination of information shall not take precedence over the verification of facts, sources and/or the offer of a reply.

*Journalists shall do the utmost to rectify any errors or published information which is found to be inaccurate in a timely, explicit, complete and transparent manner.

*Journalists shall ensure that the dissemination of information or opinion does not contribute to hatred or prejudice and shall do their utmost to avoid facilitating the spread of discrimination on grounds such as geographical, social or ethnic origin, race, gender, sexual orientation, language, religion, disability, political and other opinions.

*Plagiarism, distortion of facts, slander, libel, defamation, and unfounded accusations will be considered by journalists to constitute serious professional misconduct.

*Journalists shall refrain from acting as an auxiliary of the police or other security services.

*Journalists shall not use the freedom of the press to serve any other interest and shall refrain from receiving any unfair advantage or personal gain because of the dissemination or non-dissemination of information.

*Journalists will avoid – or put an end to – any situation that could lead him/her to a conflict of interest in the exercise of his/her profession.

*Journalists will avoid any confusion between his/her activity and that of advertising or propaganda.

*Journalists will not undertake any activity or engagement likely to put his/her independence in danger.

It matters—because when so-called “journalists” actively collude with Hamas terrorists, when images and videos are deliberately manipulated to deceive, and when lies, distortions, and intentional omissions are passed off as truth without consequence, it’s not just unethical—it’s an assault on reality itself. These aren’t mere lapses in judgment; they are calculated betrayals that fuel hatred, endanger lives, and serve as ammunition in the disinformation war on Israel.

So who is a journalist? Any of the five so-called “journalists” killed in the Israeli airstrike at Al-Nasser Hospital?

Not Ahmed Abu Aziz, who celebrated the October 7 massacre, calling it “the greatest day of our generation” and thanked “all factions” (including Hamas) involved in the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

Not anyone who works for Al Jazeera. Al Jazeera is a Qatari-backed propaganda machine so biased it is banned in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and Morocco. Even a Palestinian journalists association accuses Al Jazeera of “biased coverage and incitement”. They serve as the press arm of Hamas. So not Mohammed Salama, who worked for Al Jazeera.

What about Hussam al‑Masri and Moaz Abu Tah who worked for Reuters? When a Reuters Executive Editor posts on his LinkedIn a 7,500-word anti-Israel essay, it sends Reuters staff a clear anti-Israel message. And remember that Reuters continued to use Doaa Rouqa, who described October 7 as “A morning and day like no other on the road to liberation and great victory, God willing”, long after her bias was uncovered.

And Mariam (Maryam) Abu Daqqa? She was one of the photographers who passed off photographs of children with pre-existing conditions to mislead the world about hunger in Gaza.

These were the five propagandists killed at Al-Nasser Hospital. The rules of war are very clear: civilian infrastructure is a legitimate target when used as a military outpost; and that’s what happened here. While I do not celebrate their deaths, I won’t mourn the passing of those who celebrate the massacre of my people or those who spread lies to encourage further massacres.

And it’s a “Gaza Ministry of Health” fable that this is the deadliest war for journalists. Because slapping a Press vest on a terrorist does not a journalist make.

This vest, by the way, is available at Amazon, so you, too, can pretend to be a journalist.
