A Call to the Diaspora to Visit Israel

Not for them but for you.

Not because they need it, but because you need it.

Not because they need your tourism or your support or your embrace in a time of extreme trauma.

Not because your presence will make everything that has happened over the past three years any easier.

Not because you can help them heal or unbreak their hearts.

Go so they can unbreak yours.

Go to see their spirit of survival and be reminded of your own.

The same courage, bravery and resilience that courses through their veins, courses through yours.

And you are under attack.

It’s different from the missiles and rockets. It’s more passive aggressive.

Increasingly you are being made to feel unwelcome in a place that you thought was home.

You realize your neighbors don’t know the difference between good and evil.

They don’t share your values.

They have no soul.

But moving to Israel is not an option for you in the immediate future.

Or maybe even in the far future.

And visiting is so expensive.

For a family of 4 it can cost over $10,000!

But.

You need Israel in your life.

So, if you can’t live there, visit.

And if you can’t afford to visit then save up.

Start saving now.

If it takes you two years, or five years, or 10 years. It’s worth it.

Take yourself and your family home.

Don’t buy a new dining room set.

Don’t send two kids to sleepaway camp this summer.

Don’t lease a luxury car.

Make whatever concessions your family needs to make.

And take your hearts and souls home.

Israelis are there and they are fighting and they are suffering.

But they are suffering in their homes with their families’ around them.

And in every city and yishuv and kibbutz, they are surrounded by people who understand them.

And when people suffer together they also cry tears of laughter and joy together.

And despite the extreme pain they are in, they keep celebrating.

Come sit with them on the same earth that our grandfathers and grandmothers sat on and suffered on and celebrated on.

Visit their beautiful sites and be comforted by all our people have endured.

When you go there you will realize you don’t have to worry.

Israel and the Jewish people are not going anywhere.
