Dear Jewish Voice for Peace,

First your Israel-hating friends came for the Ultra-Orthodox Jews
And you did not speak out because it made you the “good type” of Jew

Then they came for the Conservative Jews
And you did not speak out
Instead, you were enraged that they still pray facing Zion

Then Israel-haters came for the Reform Jews
And you did not speak out
Instead, you protested Israel’s right to exist

Then they came for the Israelis
And you did not speak out
Instead, you celebrated with them
On October 7th, you called Hamas “Palestinian fighters” and proclaimed that “oppressed people everywhere will seek — and gain — their freedom”
You cheered Hamas when they murdered your family
You stood in solidarity with people who gang-raped your sisters
You praised the people who executed your cousins in front of their mothers
You partnered with Students for Justice in Palestine and chanted “glory to our martyrs”

But the joke is on you
You are nothing but useful idiots to Israel-haters
You simply legitimize their homicidal Jew-hatred
But when they no longer need you, they will toss you away
Because to them, you are nothing
You are nothing but a Jew

My JVP brothers and sisters, don’t you see that you are not immune to the hatred our people face? Don’t you see that sleeping with the enemy won’t protect you? You have forgotten where you came from and where you are going. You abandoned our family to gain societal acceptance and political currency. You want a pat on the back from those who will stab you in the back. Open your eyes and come back home.
