A Letter to Iranians
A letter to Iranians. The corrupt regime that sacrifices you for its own foreign policy aims – even as the country suffers – is the true enemy.
Dear Iranians,
The Persian Kingdom, for many years, was globally respected. People around the world looked at it in awe. Persia was rich in beauty – from modern infrastructure, to historic architecture, to a powerful military – it was undoubtedly the center of the globe.
But over the past several hundred years, this has changed. Imperial powers have repeatedly pillaged your country, and your leaders sold you out to fatten their pockets. The gloriousness of the Kingdom, which was globally admired, turned into a free-for-all hellhole with Persians being exploited en-masse.
Jews know this feeling of exploitation. For millenia, the Jewish people have faced persecution from the biggest empires – from the Assyrians, to the Babylonians, to the Greeks, to the Romans, to Nazi Germany.
Amidst this oppression, the Persian Kingdom helped the Jews in a time of need. Cyrus the Great allowed the Jewish people to return to Judea and build the Second Temple. The Bible, in Isaiah 45:1, refers to Cryus as ‘the anointed one’.
This was an act of kindness from your ancient Kingdom, and is an example of Persian leadership that changed the course of another people’s story for the better.
However, in more recent times, imperial powers together with the elites of Persia have led you down a different path. Over the past few hundred years, Persians have been exploited in every way possible.
Let’s be clear: the current Iranian theocracy is just more of the same. The 1979 regime change was not a revolution – it was an illusion. An illusion of real freedom.
Instead of leading Iran to become an independent state, this elitist regime has plundered you. They voluntarily turned Iran into a client state of China: the same China which murders Uyghur Muslims. Under this corrupt regime, Iran’s economy has stagnated, the Rial has collapsed, and water is in dire shortage – all whilst they’re slaughtering Iranians in public.
This regime did all of this. They fund terrorism abroad, making Iran into a pariah on the global stage, whilst people at home live in dire poverty.
Please, remember who the true enemy is.
