A Letter to the “Free Palestine” Crowd

To all those screaming “Free Palestine,”

I’m sure that many of you think you’re doing the right thing by standing up for the “underdog.” But when you say “Free Palestine,” do you know what that means?

To me, it means the following…

I think that Palestinian children, boys AND girls, should be free to go to school where they can learn to read and write, where they can learn math and science and art and music, and where they can learn HOW to think and not what to think.

I think that Palestinian men AND women should be free to get jobs and make a living and support their families. They should be free to choose careers based on their individual talents and strengths and should be able to get whatever training they need.

I think that Palestinian people should be free to live in clean homes in clean neighborhoods and have clean clothes and clean food and clean water for drinking, bathing, and cleaning.

I think that Palestinian people should be free to get the food and drink they need to keep themselves and their families healthy.

I think that Palestinian people should be free to get whatever medical care they need whenever they need it.

I think that Palestinian people should have freedom of religion.

I think that Palestinian men AND women should be free to vote and have a voice in their government.

Do you agree with me on ALL of the above? If the answer is not an unequivocal yes, you need to ask yourself why. Is it that you never really thought about it before? Fine. Think about it now. Start asking questions and get the facts and stop swallowing propaganda.

If you still don’t want ALL of the above freedoms for the Palestinian people, then you’re part of the problem. Most of the Arab leaders don’t want the above freedoms for the Palestinian people. In fact, many of them want the Palestinian people to be free only to be their slaves, to do their dirty work for them, and to give them good publicity by making Israel out to blame for their suffering.

If you do agree with me on all of the above, then why, on G-d’s holy earth, are you supporting Hamas? Hamas is one of those leaders that definitely does NOT want any of the above freedoms for the Palestinian people. They went after innocent civilians in Israel and then played up the suffering of Gazan civilians even though they caused that suffering. They want Jews dead and they only want the Palestinian people to help them do it.

Meanwhile, Israel was never against a separate Palestinian Arab state with all of the above freedoms. It was the Arabs who turned down every offer and always lost. And in Israel, Arabs are a significant minority with all of the above-mentioned freedoms.

By the way, if you identify as LGBTQ and you’re part of the “Queers for Palestine” crowd, consider this: if you protested “Queers for Palestine” in Israel, then once your protest is over, you would just go home, do some laundry, eat a dinner of your choosing, and go to sleep in your bed. But if you did that same protest in the Middle East outside of Israel, you’d be in danger of getting killed. They routinely execute LGBTQ people. So why are you supporting them?

If you really want the Palestinian people to be free and to have all of the above freedoms, then you need to choose your side very carefully. Do you want to support terrorists who don’t give a flying hoot about freedom for Palestinian people or do you want to support the very people who give those freedoms?

Think about it. Know what it all means.

Sincerely,

Someone who wants Jews and non-Jews to live in peace and safety.
