A question for Zohran Mamdani
Hi New Yorkers. For those of you in position to hold the mayoral candidates to account for their views, you may want to consider asking Zohran Mamdani the following question.
By way of background, as you probably know, in last night’s New York mayoral debate, Mamdani reiterated his position that he would recognise Israel’s right to exist, but not as a Jewish state.
The United States Commission for International Religious Freedom identifies 23 countries as Muslim states.
In light of the above, please may you ask Mamdani if his position is to recognise these countries’ rights to exist, but not as a Muslim state? And in giving his please may he answer separately for each of the following countries:
- Afghanistan
- Algeria
- Bahrain
- Bangladesh
- Brunei
- Egypt
- Iran
- Iraq
- Jordan
- Kuwait
- Libya
- Malaysia
- Maldives
- Mauritania
- Morocco
- Oman
- Pakistan
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- Somalia
- Tunisia
- United Arab Emirates
- Yemen
