Michel M.J. Shore

After the War and Seeming Uncertainty

After the war and seeming uncertainty,

To find it in ourselves to go beyond ourselves.

That is not an option; it is life’s demand.

To put our physical selves on automatic pilot.

Each day to be reborn is to begin anew.

Where do we go from here? And what do we do?

Everything that can be done to affirm life,

For everyone in our midst and for ourselves.

How, under what circumstances and then what?

To give way to the spirit within to act.

When we can no longer see what is next,

To believe in the only choice, affirmation.

That it will be good because we will it so.

So it will be written, so it will be said.

(Dedicated and in honour of all those  who throughout history have done this, time and time again; and to whom we owe everything and more.)
