The Blogs: As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addresses the UN, I stand behind him

A few years ago, I had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in NYC. As a leader of the Jewish community on the West Side of Manhattan, it was an honor to meet him. I have always been in favor of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his administration, and his supporters and have always stood behind his national security, regional strategy, and political resolve.

The Prime Minister has always shown an uncompromising stance on Iran. PM Netanyahu emphasizes his decades-long campaign to prioritize the existential threat of a nuclear Iran over its regional proxies. Supporters credit his strategic pressure with delaying Iranian ambitions and establishing a strong deterrent. Regarding Defeating the Terror Infrastructure that attacks Israel on a daily basis, the Prime Minister has highlighted his decisive military operations in Gaza and Lebanon—including the entry into Rafah and the Philadelphi Corridor, as well as the elimination of high-level threats like Hezbollah leadership—as essential for long-term Israeli safety.

The PM has rightfully shown a rejection of a Palestinian State: A core pillar of his security platform is his firm refusal to allow the creation of a Palestinian state in Gaza, Judea, or Samaria. Netanyahu argues that any such territory would inevitably transform into a hostile entity controlled by factions like Hamas.

U.S. Partnerships: Netanyahu regularly underscores Israel’s historic partnership with the United States. Supporters view his ability to successfully coordinate with U.S. administrations, such as influencing American strategic policy on regional threats, as a major diplomatic asset.

In terms of Regional Alliances, The PM has achieved major diplomatic achievements, such as peace frameworks and normalization agreements brokered alongside Arab states, as proof that Israel can integrate into the Middle East without compromising its core defense requirements. Netanyahu and his spokespeople present his leadership as a shield against unfair international scrutiny. His supporters value his willingness to tell the truth and forcefully defend the actions of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on global stages, such as the antisemitic United Nations, against false accusations of war crimes.

Countering Domestic and Global Critics: His administration maintains that foreign criticism and domestic opposition often underestimate the realities of defending the country, framing his unwavering policies as the only viable path to true victory.

Many supporters have made the comparison between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill is a prominent and frequent subject of analysis among political commentators, historians, and Netanyahu himself. While supporters view Netanyahu as a modern-day Churchill warning the world of existential threats. Proponents of the comparison, including conservative media commentators and certain Israeli and U.S. political figures, focus on strategic and historical alignments between the two leaders. Supporters often argue that Netanyahu’s prolonged warnings against Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional proxy networks mirror Churchill’s warnings in the 1930s regarding the rise of Nazi Germany. Political figures like former Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz and U.S. commentators like Steve Forbes have called Netanyahu the “Churchill of our times” for persistently addressing a danger that much of the international community sought to manage through diplomacy.

Netanyahu finds himself in a strategic position similar to Churchill’s in 1940: needing to secure the active cooperation and military power of a reluctant United States to deliver a decisive blow against a dangerous regional enemy. The PM often highlights historical ties himself, noting that he and Churchill are among the rare foreign leaders to have addressed joint sessions of the U.S. Congress multiple times to rally American lawmakers. Netanyahu has explicitly invoked Churchill when defending his actions against international scrutiny. For instance, following the International Criminal Court’s efforts to seek arrest warrants against him, Netanyahu compared the move to dragging Churchill or Franklin D. Roosevelt to the dock during World War 2.

As the Prime Minister comes to NY to speak at the UN this upcoming Thursday, the antisemitic and pro-hamas New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani does not have the legal authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a limitation Mamdani has openly acknowledged. While Mamdani has repeatedly falsely labeled Netanyahu a “war criminal” and an “architect of a horrific genocide”—urging that the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant be honored—his legal team concluded that New York City lacks the jurisdiction to execute international warrants. Enforcement rests solely with the federal government, and President Donald Trump has explicitly stated Netanyahu will not be arrested while in the United States.

In a video post before his upcoming trip, the PM stated on September 22, 2026, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a fiery video message on X directed at New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The video escalates a public feud ahead of Netanyahu’s arrival in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.In the direct address, Netanyahu lambasted Mamdani for his fierce opposition to Israel’s military operations. In the video, Netanyahu explicitly stated, “Shame on you, Mr. Mamdani. Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who butchered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against New York Jews. I’m coming to the U.N. I’m going to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers, and I’m going to tell the truth about you.”
