Originally from London, England; Michael Lewis spent a few years in Israel in the mid-1970s, including 2 years on Kibbutz Kfar Blum where he met his future wife. After studying at Rutgers and Princeton; Michael moved to Washington DC where he spent a year at the just-founded, Washington Institute for Near East Policy before spending almost 40 years (until late 2024) at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) where he was "Director of Policy Analysis."
