Orli Peter, Ph.D. is a clinical and neuropsychologist who has served as a professor of psychology and a consultant on terrorism research at the RAND Corporation. She specializes in the intersection of trauma, neuroscience, and propaganda, with decades of experience treating survivors of war, terror, and mass violence. After the October 7 attacks, she launched the Israel Healing Initiative, bringing neuroscience-based trauma treatment to survivors in Israel. Her current work explores how extremist propaganda hijacks the same brain mechanisms used in trauma therapy, particularly emotional arousal and memory reconsolidation, not to heal, but to inflame and destabilize the public.
