Rafi Josselson is a speaker and advocate for disability inclusion, especially within the Jewish community. He has spoken to groups of various denominations, ages, and geographies—from snowbirds in Florida to elementary school students in Maryland. He has also written blogs for MATAN, his personal website, and Jewish Disability Inclusion News. For the past two years, he has hosted the only podcast focusing on disability within the Jewish community: B’tzelem Elokim. Through his work, Rafi hopes to spread a message of empathy, inclusion, awareness, and acceptance.
During the summer, Rafi works at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack, collaborating with camp leadership on inclusion programming for both staff and campers. During the rest of the year, he is a student at Binghamton University, where he is actively involved in the Jewish community. He serves on the G-Boards of Chabad, JLIC, and BUZO, and partners with Hillel on disability programming. He also serves as a member of the Student Association Congress, sitting on the Student Life and DEI Committees, and as secretary of Binghamton’s Judaic Studies Student Advisory Council. Majoring in Judaic Studies and History and minoring in Religious Studies and Philosophy, he aims to take his diverse, impactful life experiences to the rabbinate, where he hopes to continue advancing the Jewish disability inclusion movement.
