Sam Arnold is a passionate first year Rabbinical School student at the Jewish Theological Seminary in York City and the Slifka Nadich Rabbinic Fellow at University of Miami Hillel. Originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, Sam is a Past Hillel President, Magna Cum Laude and a Presidential Scholar graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he pursued Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education and Comparative Religions. He has recently graduated from the William Davidson School of Jewish Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary, where he pursued a Masters in Jewish Education with a concentration in teaching and pedagogy. Prior to beginning Rabbinical School, Sam served as a GSRP/Head Start Blend Preschool Educator at the Farmington Early Childhood Center and as an educator, tutor, and minyan lay leader at Adat Shalom Synagogue. In conjunction with his studies, Sam has volunteered at Youth United, a Non-Profit that brings Students of Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and non-affiliated backgrounds together to do volunteer work and shed light on the intersectionality of the Farmington Hills community. He has also taken part in the Adamah Detroit Educator Fellowship, NEWCAJE Conference, and is a proud member of the Jewish Educators Assembly, the association for Conservative/Masorti Jewish Educators.
Sam is passionate about helping others find their "Jewish Spark" and is excited to share words of Torah with the world.
