Bad losers, what do they have in common?

And, how should we approach these politicians?

I’m not saying I have the last word on this. Please, think along.

Trump is a bad loser. He thinks it’s bad advertising to admit his loss.

After Rabin’s assassination, for decades, the Israeli Left turned sour losers.

Now, the Orthodox parties are losing to democracy. But, Chief Rabbi Kook worked with and valued the leading Zionist secularists. What happened?

Perhaps these three cases share that none of the parties ever thought they could lose. The rude awakening made them ‘Only we are right’ politicians.

Trump was ruining USA democracy, stealing even more money for the super-rich (reverse Robin Hood), breaking NATO’s unity, empowering every dictator around the globe, and confusing everyone and all.

Rabin was on his way to a successful peace process, he thought. But the public didn’t think so. Reality kicked in winning it from groundless pipedreams. His successor buddy Peres even lost the elections.

The religious felt great when Israeli-Orthodox-Jewish Parties had veto rights about everything and when the Religious-Zionists could envision eventually taking over the narrative and country. But, Moderates took over, prioritizing Democracy above Tradition, and the rest are furious.

They’re all bad sports because they never saw their defeat coming. And they also got a notion that they may have lost power forever. The grapes were never as sour before. They still don’t know what hit them. They have no substantial arguments, so they resort to exaggerations and lies. Bad.

We need to tell the losers: We feel your pain but get over it. Bearing a grudge is not helping you. Become more moderate, and you might regain a seat at the table. But, you must be willing to compromise and allow others their say too. Playing redeemer is over. Democracy wins out. Forever after.
