Ballots, Bullets and Cages… Our Political Life

Dear readers:

I’m not telling you anything that you do not already know. You’ve seen it on TV, you’ve heard it on the radio, you’ve read it in every one of Israel’s daily newspapers plus news media from abroad. You’ve heard it at home, at work, on the bus, in a café. The same theme daily focusing on the life and remains of our most corrupt prime minister in history.

It’s too bad that the messiah was not on the election ballots. Likud would not have voted for him but the ex-prisoner Aryeh Deri, a rabbi of ignoble deeds, would cast his ballot for the messiah only if the messiah promised to give him a life-long position as Minister of Religious Affairs, a corrupt ministry in our Knesset.
Corruption supports corruption so it is of no consequence that Deri’s party clings hopefully onto the coat tails of Netanyahu, a desperate man awaiting an indictment. Not even God can save him. Not even a son cocneived aboard an ElAl flight as many Israelis say.

Brilliant journalists, editors, commentators have painted a picture, a frightening one, of what we ordinary Israelis can expect if Netanyahu’s attempt to force immunity for his crimes and his sick disease of ending our democracy by killing the strength of our courts and system of justice receives the approval by Knesset members’ votes.

Other sick people like Miki Zohar and Bezalel Smotrich and the Otzma terrorist gang worship Netanyahu hoping to receive from him ministerial posts of influence and national fame. Fame cannot be given to the already infamous. And Bibi’s future legacy will be good only for reading in the bathroom. Readers need to be careful… it could cause severe constipation.

Leading voices of influential men, Benny Begin, son of our late and greatest prime minister, Menachem Begin, and David Horovitz, distinguished editor of the TIMES OF ISRAEL, have made their voices heard and their powerful words read. It behooves the Israeli public to listen carefully to their opinions. They have nothing more to gain except the salvation of Israel’s democracy which now lays dying on its sick bed.

Politicians come in and go out by ballots. Mad dogs, rabid animals, go out by bullets or cages. It would be against my Jewish morality to wish for bullets. But on the other hand, it would be wiser for the protection of the public to lock up wild dogs in cages.

In that way we can escape the poisonous venom of their bite.

People who read the English-language daily edition of the TIMES OF ISRAEL are intelligent men and women in search of truth. We have no Diogenes carrying a lamp to find it. The truth is in front of us and we cannot be blind to it.

Netanyahu’s regime, unlike that of the Turkish dictator, Erdogan, is falling apart and coming to its hoped-for end. None of us (except for Sara and Yair) can tolerate ten more years of the Netanyahu stench on the bench.

The power of saving our democracy lies in the hands of you, dear readers. Do not let corruption infect your Jewish souls. Put an end to tyranny without a French guillotine.

But end it before it ends us. Long live our Jewish and democratic State of Israel. Drive the corrupt ones out.

And once he is in the cage, please be sure to lock it very tightly. We don’t need Zohar to help him make his grand escape !
